Fun Fact: The narrator of this book is a Secretary Bird. This is a species of bird native to Sub-Saharan regions. Those long legs? It uses them to kick snakes to death and eat them! When I mention this to kids, they are understandably enthralled.
Fun Fact: In first grade, I was so embarrassed to be an only child that I invented a twin sister—kidnapped at birth by gypsies, of course. To prove my point, I pointed to the chicken pox scar on the middle of my forehead as proof of a jewel I'd worn there as a baby.
