The ILD PHOENIX SUPPORT GROUP (ILDPHX GROUP) exists to provide patients, their caregivers and their families a connection point of moral support as well as a supportive community.
ILDPHX is a local extension of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Through the generosity of St Joseph''s Hospital of Phoenix we meet monthly on the hospital's campus.
During our meetings we share personal experiences as well as uncover educational opportunities that help patients and caregivers cope with and manage the progression of ILD.
There is no cost to participate with ILDPHX GROUP. Simply show up in person or via ZOOM.
Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) is an umbrella term for a group of over 200 lung disorders characterized by inflammation and scarring (fibrosis) of the lung tissue, specifically the interstitium. This scarring makes it difficult for oxygen to pass into the bloodstream, leading to shortness of breath and other symptoms.
