Kyle Harrington is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from George Mason University in 2014. He began his career in Fairfax County Public Schools as the Assistant Band Director at Fairfax High School from 2014-2017. He then transitioned to being the Assistant Band Director at Langley High School in Mclean VA from 2017-2019.
Outside of teaching high school band he has had the pleasure of teaching at various music camps in the area including the Vienna Band Camp and the John Champe Summer Band Camp. He also taught the World Class Crossmen Dum and Bugle Corps in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Prior to becoming a music educator, Mr Harrington performed with Carolina Crown, a World Class Drum and Bugle Corps in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013 where the group recieved 2 Visual Gold Medals, 4 Brass Gold Medals, 2 World Championship Silver Medals, and 1 World Championship Gold Medal.
This is Mr. Harringtons first time opening a brand new school, he is excited to build a culture of excellence and cant wait to watch this program grow into something truly special!
Talitha Harrington began her color guard career at 7 years old as a member of Sensation Performance Ensemble in the Netherlands. She continued with the organization for 15 years as a performer and spent the last 8 years as a designer/choreographer for Sensation A Class and this will be her 6th year designing/choreographing for Sensation Open, who received a bronze medal in the 2019 WGI Open Class Finals. She also was one of the choreographers for Jubal, a drum corps in the Netherlands, from 2012-2018. Talitha marched Beatrix’ Drum & Bugle corps in 2009 and 2010, and also performed with their winter guard in WGI world class finals in 2011. Talitha then pursued her dream of marching DCI by joining Carolina Crown. She was a member in 2011, 2013, and 2014. After her age-out she came back as part of the color guard staff for 2015 as well. To end her performing career, Talitha was a member of Pride of Cincinnati in 2017 and was fortunate enough to receive a WGI World Class Gold Medal. Last year, Talitha spent 2018 and 2019 as one of the choreographers for the WGI World Class group Blessed Sacrament and spent 2019 as a choreographer for George Mason Open Color Guard, who went on to win the WGI Open Class Gold Medal.
"There is nothing more special than starting a color guard from square one!" Talitha is ready for the challenge of building the program from scrath and developing a culture of excellence!
