We invite abstract submissions on theoretical aspects of syntax, semantics, morphology, and phonology investigated within the framework of generative grammar. Studies adopting computational and experimental methodologies fit the scope of the conference, as long as they advance the theory of generative grammar in the domains of syntax, semantics, morphology, and phonology.
Abstracts are invited for 20-minute presentations, followed by 10 minutes of discussion, or a poster presentation.
Please indicate in the submission form whether you want your abstract considered for a talk, poster, or both.
Abstracts should be in a PDF format. The identity of the author(s) must not be revealed in any way.
Abstracts must be no longer than two pages, including examples, tables, and references (2.5 cm margins on all sides, single line spacing, Times New Roman 12pt font).
Authors may submit a maximum of two abstracts; only one abstract may be single-authored.
Please note that all communications will be in person.
Abstracts can be submitted via openreview starting from October 6 to November 15, 2025, 23:59 CET (GMT+01:00).
Submission deadline: November 15, 2025
Notification of acceptance: January 7, 2026
Program: January 2026
Conference: February 12-14, 2026
The Fondazione ONLUS Marica De Vincenzi offers an award of € 500 for the best paper accepted and presented at IGG51 by an Italian researcher without a tenure-track position. The award is preferably, but not exclusively, offered to a formal psycholinguistic work in line with the goals of the Foundation.
The award winner will be announced during the IGG51 concluding remarks (on February 14, 2026).
Eligible candidates are those who meet the following three requirements:
First author of an abstract accepted and presented (as a poster or oral presentation) at the main conference of IGG51;
Non-tenure position (e.g., Master's student, Ph.D. student, post-doctoral research fellow, etc.);
Italian citizenship.
The authors interested in participating in the award must indicate it at the time of submitting the abstract.
This year's candidates will be directly notified of their eligibility by the IGG51 Organizing Committee.
The award is assigned by a selection board composed of the following three members:
Two members of the Marica De Vincenzi foundation: Maria Teresa Guasti and Luigi Rizzi;
One member of the IGG49 Organizing Committee: Paolo Lorusso.
