Well... all things began to shut down starting about mid-March 2020 because of Covid-19. This included the musical productions around the country, of which, our local High Schools were not exempt. We decided that maybe we could still do something about it. How could we still do a play/musical but work under the Covid-19 restrictions? What about Radio Theater where it could be do it live, but online? That didn't fly so much since the delay from different cast member was different enough and caused awkward silence at times. Then we thought of doing a voice-over production. The cast could record their lines from home and then we could compile them all at a central location. We had already been looking into the play A Thousand Cranes and this voice-over method seemed like it would work! So we did it! :). As some of the restrictions eased we were able to meet in small groups, but we never did meet all together in person.
"I want to say that your video just blew me away. [] The voices the animation, the whole thing is just amazing. I don’t even know what to say."
"Wow! [We] congratulate you, cast, crew and staff for a fantastic, innovative production during this difficult time. Everyone did a great job -- please let them know. []"
"[] I can’t believe how good it is! Fantastic!!! You did a wonderful job, congrats to you and your talented kids!"
"It turned out so wonderful! Well done. :)"
"OH MY HEAVENS! That was just amazing!"
"That is an AMAZING production. I really enjoyed it, A LOT!"
On July 10th, 2020 at 6:30pm we were able to have our opening (and closing) of this production to the public. We did this at Thunder Ridge High School Auditorium. Thanks Mrs. Jorden Cammack (Drama teacher at Thunder Ridge)!
