Summary
This one-day workshop explores the role of the financial sector in promoting decent work and positive social outcomes. It aims to understand how to support the financially vulnerable, including women and small enterprises, by incorporating research-backed strategies for financial inclusion and improved resilience. Insights from current academic research and practical on-the-ground experience will be presented on topics related to rural finance, digital finance, and inclusive insurance. The workshop is organised by the ILO’s Social Finance Programme and the Institute for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics of University of Liverpool.
