I've installed Visual Studio 2008 to use Setup Project project (but I can use the InstallShield from 2010+ if anyone can explain how to do it). I add my dll to the Application Folder and mark it as Register = vsdrpCOM and I build it and I get a .msi and .exe.

The problem might be that you try to run msiexec.exe and this exe is not in the cab file. See this question (be sure to scroll down to the incredibly helpful sample code posted by Roey 5 Aug 2009).Try to either create a setup.exe that will run process msiexec.exe and install your msi or make an installer with a bootstrap setup.exe file and include both in the cab.
runmsi.exe is a dummy exe file that runs msiexec with given parameters. Alternatively you could use exe installer or bootstrap exe and msi installer. The important part to note is that IE will not allow to run anything outside the cab file. Therefore you have to do this hack.

Thanks for the comments ZwickySoft, I figured this was a long forgotten about plug in and never thought there was any chance of an update now. But yeah, if you could add .cin or .exe that'd be fantastic. Cineon is almost never used today, but is important for historical reasons, some classic color calibration images can be found in that format, so reading them and reading them with correct color space conversion would be fantastic. Granted I believe professional apps like Nuke and Da Vinci Resolve will read them and handle the color conversion in proper ways. So for accurate historical purposes those are better used. But just being able to see the contents from DOpus is a nice feature. I believe .dpx is a more modern variation on .cin, so the code to read .dpx may not need significant changes to read .cin. IANASD (I am not a software developer), so I may be trivializing a challenging coding project.
Downloaded and 'installed' the UVG plugins and restarted DOpus. I'm facing some issue, though that UGV doesn't seem to be picking up on the .xcf (GIMP) files. Not in the Viewer pain, nor in the Viewer window (show up as Text). .xcf is not in the "Ignored Files" configuration of the plugin. FWIW, I'm on DO 12.32 x64 and installed from the DVP_UGV_Win64.zip file.
I downloaded the Avira suggested on this forum and it keeps popping up: Malware found 'TR/Spy.507904.63' was found in file 'C:\\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe' Access to this file was denied. Please select a further action. I choose remove, but it won't remove. It pops up repeatedly. I cannot scan with the antivirus. I have tried everything in normal mode and safe mode. It's the same regardless. I have used rkill.exe, the 'remove fake antivirus.exe', 'TDSSKiller.exe', and another rootkit program that was suggested on one of these types of forums.

Don't think that the problem is solved. I have Windows 8.1. Firefox keeps asking me to upgrade Adobe Flash Player. When I upgrade it, Firefox still keeps asking me for the upgrade.
