United Nations International Day of People with Disabilities - Events in York 2018
The United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3 aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

In York the day has been observed since 2016 with events on and around the the day acknowledging the role and skills of people with disabilities in society, promoted by a group of individuals representing organisations for people with disabilities, people with disabilities and the voluntary sector. UK Disability History Month is also recognised in the proceedings.
