| EMPOWERMENT TECHNOLOGY

Empowerment Technology is about teaching us most of the details of technology as a whole. It teaches us how one should act on the internet - the proper behavior when dealing with it even if it might be considered something as trivial as someone casually commenting on someone else's post. It's called netiquette, the etiquette used on the internet. It also teaches us the history, of how one came to be, from its initial stages and web types to major events in the past that made a great deal of influence with regard to using technology. It also prepares us to be able to be aware of and handle the dangers of the digital world as its citizens, from malware to how we should avoid placing our real names or house address to the public as doing so will make us vulnerable to outside threats.

Empowerment Technology, as its name states, aims to teach students the uses, advantages, and disadvantages technologies bring while emphasizing how the use of technology became in our current era. Empowerment Technology tackles the general idea of how technology, as a whole, should be treated and used to create a better world. Not paying any heed to the more complex stuff; as a subject, it prepares us to deal with the digital world, empowers our technological skills, and shapes us to become the digital citizens we ought to be.
