Dr. Ts. Lau Bee Theng

Lau Bee Theng is currently an associate professor in ICT and the Director School of Research, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus. Her research interests are mainly on assistive and alternative technologies utilizing information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence for learning and assisting people with special needs. She has been actively contributing to her research areas with various edited books, peer reviewed journals, conference proceedings, master by research and PhD completions, and funded research projects on assistive technologies for special children, facial expression recognition-based communication, social skills acquisition with animations, real time behaviour recognition, smart technologies for the visually impaired, creative art therapies for Autism, STEM education etc. In addition, she also involves actively in community services working with special education schools, NGOs for the people with visual impairment and other disabilities.

Dr. Kardi Teknomo

Dr. Kardi was an international consultant for the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group, Toyota Infotechnology Center, Japan, the Savanah Solution in Switzerland, the Probe Software in USA, and the Aremas in Brazil. He was an associate professor in Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, a visiting professor in Ateneo de Davao, Philippines, a visiting research fellow in the University of Wisconsin and Blackthorne, Inc., both in the USA, and in the Hertha-Firnberg Research Fellow in the Austrian Institute of Technology, Austria. He was also a lecturer in Saga University, Japan. Presently, he is associated with the International Business Engineering Program, Petra Christian University, Surabaya, Indonesia .

Dr. Kardi Teknomo is one of the main proponents of Ideal Flow Network,  Teknomo-Fernandez algorithm and the main contributor of queuing rule of thumb.

Dr. Erika Fille Legara

Dr Erika is a scientist interested in the study of complex systems and artificial intelligence. Prior to joining the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in 2017, Erika was a scientist at the IHPC, A*STAR, Singapore, where she worked closely with government institutions and various industries on different R&D initiatives. At present, she is the director of AIM’s MSc. in Data Science program, holding an associate professor position. Legara is also the Deputy Managing Director of the Analytics, Computing, and Complex Systems lab at AIM.
