About the University
The genesis of Aliah University can be traced to the Mohammedan College of Calcutta (1780) that was upgraded to Calcutta Madrasah College and then to Aliah University. It was started in 2008-09 as an autonomous university under the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education, Government of West Bengal. It lays special emphasis on the development and growth of socially and educationally backward classes belonging to the Minorities while imparting higher studies and research to all. Spread across New Town, Park Circus and Haji Md Mohsin Square, the University offers graduation, post-graduation and PhD programmes in Engineering, Management, Journalism and Mass Communication, different branches of sciences and humanities, Nursing as well as Arabic and Islamic Theology.
About the Department
The Department of Management & Business Administration offers its flagship five years full-time Integrated Masters in Business Administration course as well as Doctoral programme in Management. Quality teaching, research publications, the ICMBP series of international conference, Faculty Development programme, seminars, consultancies, training programmes - national and international - have made the Department make its presence felt in the field of management education.
Objectives of the Conference
The basis for sustainable growth of any organisation is Innovation. In today’s fast world of cut throat competition, organizations need to be vibrant. Even organizations renowned for their best practices cannot afford to remain complacent with their policies. They need to innovate continuously to remain at the top and counter all competitions that they foresee. Keeping the need of the hour of business in mind, the Department of Management & Business Administration has chosen the theme of Innovations and Practices in Business for Sustainable Growth for its 3 rd International Conference on Management & Business Practices (ICMBP- 2019). ICMBP-2019 aims to encourage discussions on the role of innovations and practices affecting business from various aspects - economics, commerce, technology, behaviour, society and management. The Department is looking forward to innovative concepts that are likely to make major impact on the various practices in business, leading to their sustainable growth.

Climate in early January at Kolkata is pleasant with the temperature ranging between 14 to 23 degree Centigrade. It is in general sunny with dry crispy air blowing from Northern direction. Light woolens are adequate.
On prior intimation, accommodation may be arranged in nearby hotels at the expense of the participants.
