Mody University was established in the year 2004 by Shri. R.P.Mody Ji. He is a true visionary who took an idea ahead of his time and founded Mody University exclusively for girls. His philanthropic attributes, operated in terms of social and psychological promotion of the women community, led him to impart his proposed vision through practical infrastructure.

The University is spread over in 265 acres of the lush green realm and situated on the Jaipur-Bikaner highway (NH 52) in Lakshmangarh (Sikar). It is ranked among top 50 universities in India and one among the four leading women universities. The university is approved by the UGC and covers under section 2(f) of the UGC act, 1956. The university offers a wide range of courses in broad areas of sciences, engineering, architecture, fashion, management, legal studies, and arts and social sciences. The university holds more than 20 collaboration and MOUs with many international universities and institutes to develop the entrepreneur skills and to enhance the global exposure of the students.

The School of Sciences is one of the seven schools of Mody University. As one of the oldest and most academically diverse school, the school houses a rich array of departments and programs spanning from natural sciences to human welfare that includes Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agricultural Science, Food & Nutrition, Forensic Science, Optometry, and Physiotherapy.

The school aims to contribute to our understanding of the scientific world through excellence in observational, theoretical and experimental science and to extend quantitative, qualitative and combined methodologies to address the problems of science. In pursuit of these goals, the School coordinates objectives in research, teaching, and infrastructure.

The school accommodates more than 300 undergraduates and 100 postgraduates students across the nations. The school ensures a rigorous academic milieu around them and have the lowest faculty-student ratio in the country. Students have the accessibility of many resources like world-class laboratories, abundant library resources, smart classrooms, interactive teaching-learning tools etc. The school offers to its students, a uniquely conducive environment for intellectual, cultural, and working skills. The Department of Chemistry sits at an intellectual and physical nexus of the basic sciences and engineering. In addition to conducting our own forms of exciting research, our natural synergies with the other sciences have led our faculty and students into fascinating exchanges and collaborative projects across disciplines.

The department is one of the biggest full-fledged departments, hosting some of the most sophisticated state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities. There are six faculties having extensive teaching and research experiences with the backgrounds of top universities of the nation. The thrust research areas of the department include paramount fields like water remediation and treatment, fluorosis prevention, green chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, nano material synthesis and material processing. Every year department publish many quality research papers and books journal of National and International repute. Many research projects has been granted to the department by the DST, BRNS and State DST.
