The agricultural domain is one of the oldest professions of the human civilization. It significantly contributes to the GDP of all the countries in the world. Since the first industrial revolution, the agricultural systems processes are being automated for increasing the crop yield, logistics and supply chain management, utilization of the resources such as land, workforce, etc.; however, the ever-growing global population is still demanding significant improvement in these domains.

As the state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools and techniques have demonstrated their usability and effectiveness in almost all kinds of industrial and business processes, their application is very much needed for the agricultural domain and its associated areas, especially when considered very high uncertainty involved. The areas could be checking the soil and crop quality, prediction of the market demand and weather forecast, choosing the appropriate crops, fertilizers, efficient logistics and supply chain management, reducing the inventory, etc. In addition, agribusiness and economics are also the emerging areas where intelligent systems can be very effective. Importantly, all of these will eventually contribute to reducing the carbon emissions and sustainability. Several developed and developing countries in the world such as the USA, France, Canada, Bharat (India), Israel, Thailand, Australia, etc. have been developing AI based applications for the agricultural systems and processes. With the motive to bring researchers, academicians, scholars and industry practitioners Dr Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune (MITWPU) organizes an International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Applications 2024 (ICISA 2024) with a focus on ‘Intelligent Systems for Sustainable Agriculture’. The conference is scheduled to be held (hybrid mode) on April 26 & 27, 2024.

The conference proceedings aim to publish novel and modified intelligent systems for agricultural applications associated with the areas listed (not limited to) below.

‘It is planned to publish the peer reviewed and selected papers of conference as proceedings with Springer in their prestigious “Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems” series (https://www.springer.com/series/15179). For detailed instructions for author and editors of conference proceedings, kindly visit the following link: https://www.springer.com/us/authors-editors/conference-proceedings. Select papers from the conference will be published by Springer as a proceedings book volume. Springer will conduct quality checks on the accepted papers and only papers that pass these checks will be published. Springer Nature does not charge any money for publication of Non-Open Access content. Abstracts/extended abstracts and short papers (less than 4 pages) are not considered for publication.’
