The 1st Workshop on

Intelligent Crowd Engineering (ICE)

October 27-30 (Half-Day), 2024

Abu Dhabi, UAE

in conjunction with IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) 2024

Overview

The Intelligent Crowd Engineering (ICE) workshop is dedicated to tackling the critical challenges in crowd safety control and management, especially in preventing human casualties due to chaotic stampede during various crowd events or the spread of infectious diseases like COVID-19. It aims to go beyond traditional machine learning (ML) methods for crowd counting and density estimation, which often need help with accuracy, scalability, and real-time processing in densely populated events. By integrating advanced technologies such as ML, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and social modeling, the workshop proposes a novel ICE structure.

The key aspects include:

The workshop aims to enhance crowd management through improved real-time analysis, privacy protection, and technology penetration, ultimately contributing to more effective public health policies and safety measures. It encourages collaboration among scientists, researchers, and engineers to explore new problems and innovative technologies for better crowd safety.

The workshop papers will be published together with the ICIP'24 proceedings and IEEE Xplore.
