she kissed me like a slow damnation,
laid her lips on my cheek-
not with lust, but with something older,
older than longing,
older than light,
her mouth left no flame
but i burned anyway
and she kissed me again
oh, how she kissed me-
as if salvation could be mouthed,
as if she could rebuild eden
between the soft part of my throat
and the wild curve of her hunger
i stood bare-chested before her,
scars like psalms across my ribs
and she looked-
not with pity
but hunger
she kissed like she was learning
to pray and i was the altar,
down to my tongue,
parted, tasting,
waiting for the communion of her mouth
she opened,
i did too,
the abyss answered
she bit and i bled,
she laughed-
full of smoke and teeth,
i gave her my tongue
and she made it her relic
my hands trembled down,
found her like scripture
hidden in flesh,
she received me-
like prophecy, like thunder,
so i breathed her again
and again and again
until her name was no longer a name
but a secret too sacred to speak
she circled my lips with her own,
slow and deliberate,
and i, jaw unhinged with awe,
called her holy
i bit her back,
she drew blood
and it tasted like truth
then i knelt
not because she asked-
but because some part of me,
ancient and shivering,
knew this was the closest
i'd ever be to touching
something like god
i worshipped her,
i let her burn me,
and when i was ash,
i begged her not to stop
