Since Fukuoka is situated quite far from Japan’s major cities like Tokyo and Osaka, the most convenient way to reach it is by taking a domestic flight. Flights to Fukuoka Airport are available regularly from Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita Airports, as well as from Osaka’s Itami and Kansai Airports. The flight takes about 1.5 hours. Although you can also take the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Fukuoka (Hakata), the journey takes about five hours, so flying is still the most efficient option.
Fukuoka Airport is located very close to the city, making it easy to reach downtown quickly.
The train from Hakata Station (Fukuoka's terminal station) is convenient.
Take the JR line at Hakata Station and get off at Onojo Station. The train ride takes about 15~20 minutes. The entrance to the campus is located in front of Onojo Station.
It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Onojo Station to the venue. Please refer to the following map.
We strongly recommend hotels near Hakata Station. Hakata Station is only a 10-minute subway ride from Fukuoka Airport and is easily accessible to the workshop venue. Examples of hotels near Hakata Station are listed below, but there are many more. Please look for them on hotel reservation sites, etc. In recent years, Fukuoka has been attracting many foreign tourists, making it difficult to obtain accommodations. Early reservations are recommended.

Fukuoka City, located on the northern coast of Kyushu Island, is Japan’s fifth-largest city and a vibrant hub of culture, history, and modern life. Historically, it served as a strategic port and gateway for cultural exchange with the Asian continent, a legacy still evident in its historic sites like Shofuku-ji, Japan’s first Zen temple, and the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. Today, Fukuoka seamlessly blends its rich heritage with cutting-edge urban development, boasting bustling shopping districts, contemporary architecture, and world-renowned cuisine, including the famous Hakata ramen and lively yatai food stalls.
