Ibrahim Furkan Ince has built a comprehensive and impactful career combining academia and industry with significant contributions in information technology and engineering. His academic journey began with a PhD in Information Technology (IT) Convergence Design, completed at Kyungsung University in South Korea in 2010. Following his doctoral studies, he expanded his expertise through postdoctoral research at the University of Tokyo, Japan, where he delved into fields such as medical image processing and computer vision.

In the industry, Dr. Ince served as a Chief Research Engineer at Hanwul Multimedia Communication Co. Ltd. During his tenure, he developed advanced video-based smoke and flame detection products. These technologies are integral to enhancing safety and security by providing real-time surveillance and early warning systems for fire hazards. His work involved using real-time advanced image processing and computer vision techniques to accurately detect and distinguish between smoke and flame, crucial for automated monitoring systems.

In academia, Dr. Ince has held various positions, including Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Lecturer, Seminarian, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor, at universities across Turkey, South Korea, and Japan. His academic positions demonstrate his commitment to both teaching and research, as he guides the next generation of engineers and technologists. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Software Development at Beykent University in Turkey. In this role, he focuses on research areas such as image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, and human-computer interaction. His ongoing work continues to push the boundaries of these fields, contributing to technological advancements and educational enrichment.

Dr. Ince has an impressive publication record, including numerous articles in SCI-E and SCOPUS-indexed journals, as well as contributions to international conference proceedings. His research covers a range of topics from eye gaze estimation and vehicle tracking to human activity recognition and advanced medical image processing techniques.
