I BELIEVE IN PINK

I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

-Audrey Hepburn

What is the I BELIEVE IN PINK PROJECT?

Welcome to I BELIEVE IN PINK! We are a movement aimed at providing feminine hygiene products, clothes and makeup to women in homeless shelters. We are based at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School Vancouver.

Our Projects ...

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

In the U.S. alone, 2 million partly used bars of hotel soaps are thrown away every day. There are 1.8 billion people worldwide who do not have access to proper sanitation.

I BELIEVE IN PINK, in collaboration with Kitchen on a Mission, has begun a project to collect, sanitize, and donate leftover hygiene products from hotels across Vancouver. We are currently partnered with the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and the Best Western Plus Chateau. For more information about Kitchen on a Mission, visit their website:

Ladies in Red

23% of the homeless population in Vancouver are women.

Every month, many homeless women are placed in desperate situations. Living on the streets and getting your period is more than just an annoyance. For many, it is a loss of dignity. And it puts women's health at risk to infections and diseases due to a lack of cleanliness. Shelters are not allotted much, if any, money to buy period products since they are not seen as a necessity.

The I BELIEVE IN PINK PROJECT believes that no women should have to struggle through their period. We aim to make their lives healthier and more comfortable.

Just Wing It

Makeup is often a confidence booster and can make people feel glamorous. Various makeup items are constantly getting returned and having to be thrown out since they cannot be resold. Many of these items can be sanitized and given to those who do not have the privilege of buying such products.

The I BELIEVE IN PINK PROJECT believes that everyone is beautiful and deserves to feel that way. We believe in pink and aim to bring light and glamour to all.

Annual Christmas Care Packages

The Vancouver 2016 Homeless Count identified 539 people living on the streets of Vancouver in 1,308 shelters. This number represents 0.31% of Vancouver’s entire population. This is the highest on record since the city started the count in 2005.

Every year around the Holiday Season, the I BELIEVE IN PINK team hands out food and clothes to downtown. We believe that everyone should be warm for the holidays.
