Ultracold Atomic Physics Laboratory

We cool and trap atoms for the purposes of quantum simulation, quantum sensing, and quantum information processing. Our recent efforts include the investigation of the quantum dynamics of spinor condensates and precision spectroscopy of trapped ions. We also extend the control of atomic spins to that of nitrogen-vacancy color centers in diamonds, for nano-sensing applications and for quantum optics studies.
