Rhonda is the author of “Momma, I Wanna be Light-skinned: My Journey to Acceptance”.
After many years of silently dealing with thoughts of suicide, feelings of inadequacy, and self-doubt, Rhonda found freedom through writing. She learned to relinquish the negative words spoken to her and damaging actions committed by others, which tormented her since childhood. This journal morphed into a book and helped Rhonda break free. More importantly, it allows her readers to see themselves in her story and transform their minds one thought at a time.
Inspired to help others find courage to tell their stories, Rhonda shares her experiences on various platforms: grade schools, colleges/universities, and corporate environments. Her message is simple, “Embrace your story! Tell your story! You deserve to be free!” She empowers her audience to see the value in their experiences and encourages them to be the answer to someone else’s question.
Rhonda loves to decorate, plan, and host parties. She hosts an array of events from birthday parties to baby showers. Her specialty--holiday parties!
Rhonda, along with her husband Kevin, are building a legacy for their son’s Ethan and Caleb. They believe their role as parents is to make the necessary adjustments that will create opportunities for their children-- inspiring them to follow their dreams.
