I had checked the details under the Reports in our dashboard. However, I could only see the participant names, their time of entry and exit. It does not show how did they enter the meeting - via laptop or mobile.

I just got a new laptop with awesome audio on youtube, music streaming, etc, but Zoom is too quiet when I'm in a call with other people. Zoom volume is maxed, windows volume is maxed, and I open Windows Volume Mixer and Zoom is maxed out there as well. Is there any way to get more volume from the program?

I was given a new laptop at work and when I switch back and forth from a docking station, RStudio seems to have problems realizing the change in display, while all the other programs seem to auto-detect and re-zoom appropriately. The only fixes I've found is logging out and back into my Windows user account, or going through R-Studio's View>Zoom-in or View>Zoom-out when going back and forth between docked and undocked, which takes time.

RStudio is basically a browser window (chrome web application). It will render according to the resolution of the screen, at the current zoom setting. It will not change your zoom level as you switch monitors. Ctr- and Ctrl+ are shortcuts for zooming in and out, where you should also see a popup with a reset (to 100%) option.

so i bought this laptop a week ago. and today was the second time that the screen is blurring while opening zoom. it is really frustrating. i am afraid what to do if i had an exam directly on zoom. so the blur was gone only after i restarted the computer. so please if someone can help me to fix this problem. i don't know yet if it is because of zoom or my laptop. And do you recommend me to return it and get another one because i have just one more week if i want to return it.

I think it is good now i installed the windows updates but today My laptop automatically did a BIOS update. It was recommended by HP support. It went correctly. But Is it normal? I am kinda nervous about the future of my laptop. I just bought this new laptop 10 days ago!!

Thankfully, plenty of affordable yet capable laptops fit the bill. Some will want a laptop that can do it all, but if you're just looking to be able to work remotely and have good quality meetings over Zoom, you don't need to break the bank.

A laptop with green credentials, but that's also perfect for Zoom meetings. The combination of a great value package, a 1440p webcam and some AI smarts to enhance video calls makes it an absolute winner.

The Acer Aspire Vero is a unique laptop in many regards, but for the purpose of conducting remote meetings over Zoom, it has one killer feature. Acer has squeezed a 1440p webcam inside it, compared to 1080p which is found on most laptops. Resolution isn't everything, but it certainly helps, and with this laptop you get great looking video.

The Surface Go 3 might be tiny, but it's a rather versatile laptop, with enough performance from an optional Core m3 processor (CPU) to get through most productivity work. Compared to the Surface Go 2, the Go 3 is nearly identical, save for the performance upgrade. Keep in mind that Instant On capabilities, thinner bezel, and larger display have carried over from the Go 2. There is now a more powerful Surface Go 4, but it's more expensive and currently only available to business customers, so for most people, the Surface Go 3 is still the one to get.

In his Pavilion Plus 14 review, Editor-in-Chief Daniel Rubino called it "the best $1,000 you can spend on a powerful OLED laptop right now." That's saying something, as many manufacturers were focusing heavily on improving their mid-range lineups. Port selection on the latest model includes Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI 2.1, while Wi-Fi 6E ensures a strong connection to Zoom.

Lenovo has wholly shifted Tech Editor Ben Wilson's opinion on the business-focused category, convincing him away from settling for gaming laptops that double up as work machines. The ThinkPad X1 Yoga scored well with our team each time Lenovo updated it, and the Gen 8 model sold Ben within a single day of use.

It might not be the prettiest laptop, but it's practically flawless in function and makes day-to-day work more accessible. We wouldn't hesitate to take it on a long journey, solving the issue of cramped spaces in public transport with a transformation into tablet mode and a phenomenal battery. Lenovo also has a number of thoughtful software additions to make the work day better, and a built-in privacy shutter for the webcam is now standard fare on ThinkPads.

Anyone looking for the best 2-in-1 laptops focusing on portable working will love it since Lenovo offers generous warranty coverage and software support. We'd choose it a hundred times over the company-designated machines we've been stuck with in the past.

Having a good device for Zoom meetings is very important these days, and thankfully, there are plenty of affordable and well-made laptops on the market that have a good webcam, display and microphone.

I recently re-installed Manjaro Gnome from ISO.

Previously I was able to zoom in/out using pinch gesture on my trackpad. But now this is not working.

Im not sure if this is a feature of Gnome or Firefox, but it was firefox on which i took advantage of this.

I have a Dell XPS 15 9530 with a touchscreen and can't get pinch-to-zoom or scrolling to work on XFCE. I tried touchegg but no chance.

Are there any other solutions? Are there any drivers that support those features out of the box ? Standart click & drag-and-drop works out of the box so far.

Currently I am using synaptics driver for touchpad + evdev for my touchscreen. The touchscreen "works" in terms of click as well as drag & drop. How ever, the most crucial features for me are missing: pinch-to-zoom and scrolling.

I tried Touchegg:

High CPU usage

Dead project

Very buggy (according to google results), e.g. a bug I encountered:

It also fails to do any two-finger pinch-to-zoom or scrolling or "two-finger rotation". No error, just won't work. Has been reported many times but touchegg isn't getting developed anymore.

None of the programs you listed are native GTK3 applications. As Silkworm205 suggested try eye of gnome, evince or another GTK3/Gnome 3 application. Gestures such as pinch zoom etc. all work on my touchscreen laptop (HP spectre 13) out of the box in GTK3/Gnome.3 applications.

I just switched from Mac to Windows. On my macbook I used to be able to zoom and pan using pinch and two-finger motions on the touchpad of my laptop, but on my new computer this is not working. I don't know if it's relevant, but this new laptop has a touchscreen. I found some other threads discussing a similar issue for an earlier version of indesign, and supposedly this was resolved a while back. However, running the latest version I am not able to use my trackpad as desired and it's quite frustrating as this is my preferred way of working. Is there a setting that I can change to fix this?

I'm a Mac user so I can't speak directly for Windows. But if you go to Edit > Preferences and click on the Interface section at left, you may find an option to "Enable Multi-Touch Gestures". Not sure if you have this on Windows or not but this might help. Can you use pinch and zoom in other programs on your computer?

Hey. I had this same problem and it was infuriating me. I fixed by ticking this box. Though it might have now broken zoom when using a mouse (cant test right now), the touchpad now does pinch to zoom.

I'm using a Windows (Win11) laptop with a builtin camera in video conferences (Google Meet, Zoom, ...). In front of my laptop there is a keyboard and my distance to the camera lens is about 60cm (23 inch).

I tried zoom's background blur feature but this is app specific. It would be better to have this as a builtin features of the Microsoft Windows operating system. Or did I miss something and it's already available?

Your best bet without sacrificing quality (webcams are already bad enough!) is to use a laptop stand. It will typically raise the webcam to eye level. This has another nice side effect: It will improve ergonomics of your setup. You will not be able to use the laptop keyboard anymore though.

For more advanced settings I found this link helpful. Allows you to adjust zoom, pan and tilt settings if the device supports it. -tips/access-advanced-settings-for-the-integrated-webcam-on-windows-10/

Consider purchase of clip-on lenses for your webcam. (Example.) They still fulfill your requirement of using your current webcam and they come in front of your existing webcam helping you to achieve desired effect using standard optical way. They were designed for laptop users with requirements similar to yours.

One way to fix the problem is to pile some books under your laptop to help elevate your webcam. Then, it will be able to point at you more horizontally. But that unstable solution is hardly a permanent fix.

Levitate your Laptop with a Desk Stand

Of course, a standing desk can do the trick. But if your laptop is stuck on a standard desktop, you need another way to bring your laptop up a foot or so.

Thanks for the follow-up. As such there isn't an option "call over the internet" in laptop zoom application. It is there in the mobile app, which works seamlessly. However, I was able to connect by changing the settings in " sound settings. "but the most annoying part is, whenever I switch meetings between microsoft teams and zoom meetings or place buds in the case or connect to different device like my mobile , the connectivity goes on a toss next time when I connect to zoom meeting ,again mic problem persists. Its really annoying. Will havet troubleshoot the sound settings again where windows take 6-8 mins to fix it, in between sound drivers are not available to connect via wired headphones as well, which is impacting me terribly when I have back to back meetings. Definitely there is a scope to fix. ff782bc1db
