Inhospital Rx of DM

Suggested Rx:

Inj NPH 4-0-4 units s/c

Inj Regular insulin 4-4-4 units s/c

Planned correctional insulin 1 unit per 100 mg/dl; before bfreakfast, lunch and dinner

2 units regular insulin has been increased in the night and it is expected to lower the night blood sugars, further NPH night dose has been left unaltered. Correctional insulin can be given the next day and the regimen can be optimised further later.
