Personal Profile
Dr. UK Sovannara received the degrees of Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2017 and 2022, respectively. He also obtained an Engineer’s degree in Water Resource and Rural Infrastructure from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia in 2014 and a degree in Bachelor of Education from the Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2013. During his undergraduate program, he also received a scholarship from the U.S Department of State to study pre-environmental Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University, USA, in 2014. Dr. UK has also been involved in various international projects such as Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) and Urban Water Project (UWP). Dr. UK is also a co-editor and (co)author of the book titled “Water and Life in Tonle Sap Lake” published in Springer. He is a member of the International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR) and a researcher at the HydroMet and Disaster Management Lab, Faculty of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering, Institute of Technology of Cambodia.
