Personal Profile
Dr. Try Sophal currently is a JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University, Japan. He received PhD in Engineering from Kyoto University, M.Sc. from Kyungpook National University (Republic Korea), and Engineer degree from Institute of Technology Cambodia. He has been working with several research projects related to hydrology, flood inundation modeling, climate change impact, flood and drought risk assessment, hydrological extreme analysis, flood damage assessment, flood forecasting, remote sensing, machine learning application to water resources, and other water-related fields. Dr. Try Sophal has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, including 10 as leading author and other more than 10 as co-author in reputable journals.
