Personal Profile
Maya is a U.S. Fulbright researcher based at the Hydro-D Lab at the Institute of Technology in Cambodia from October 2022 until July 2023. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Maya received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. As a research and teaching assistant in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at U.C. Berkeley, she developed her interests in comparative river basin analyses and local survival strategy systems in the Global South, particularly between Asia and Africa. With the love of travel, Maya has travelled extensively throughout Asia and has also attended middle and high school in Japan. Her current research interests include water resources management and levels of adaptation of survival strategy systems in communities throughout the Sekong, Sesan and Srepok (3S) River Basin
