Jung LAB @ CNU

Welcome to the Jung Lab!

Identifying fundamental processes shaping hydrological and biogeochemical features of near-surface environments using experimental measurements and reactive transport modeling is the overarching goal of our group. Of particular interest is investigating the scale dependence of flow and transport in heterogeneous geologic media with an emphasis on biochemical processes including chemical weathering, redox reactions, and microbial metabolisms. Most of our works are focused on developing novel computational models and experimental methods that facilitate unique observations to better understand complex physical, geochemical, and biological processes and their interplays.

We focus on environmental and energy-related research fields such as geological  CO2 sequestration, nuclear waste disposal, groundwater contaminants remediation, and chemical weathering. We carry out multidisciplinary research using a wide range of methods including cutting-edge experimental methods and numerical simulations.
