Huy T. Nguyen (Member, IEEE) is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Faculty of Information Technology, Van Lang University (VLU), where he also leads the Smart and Autonomous Systems (SAS) Research Group. He received his B.Eng. (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering from HCMC University of Technology, Vietnam, in 2013. He then earned his M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Information and Communication System, Inje University, South Korea, in 2016 and 2019, respectively. Before joining VLU, he served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO-Asia Desk) at Data Design Engineering (DDE), primarily developing data-driven AI solutions. His earlier career included significant contributions to the communication aspects of wireless SmartGrid systems as a Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R-A*STAR) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. His research interests lie in applying AI/ML and optimization techniques to signal processing and wireless communications for 5G and beyond.

Huy T. Nguyen (Member, IEEE) received a B.Eng. degree (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering from the HoChiMinh City University of Technology (Bach Khoa University), Vietnam, the M.Eng. degree, and Ph.D. degree from the Department of Information and Communication System, Inje University, South Korea, respectively. He is currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Faculty of Information Technology, School of Technology (VLTECH), Van Lang University (VLU), located in Ho Chi Minh City, VietNam.
From Jul. 2019 to Mar. 2021, he was a Research Fellow at the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Prior to joining I2R-A*STAR as a Scientist from Mar. 2021 to Jul. 2022, which contributed to the Wireless Virtual Power Plants (W-VPPs) project, he was with the Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERI@N), contributing to the Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) project. From Jul. 2022 to Oct. 2024, he served as CTO-Asia Desk at Data Design Engineering (DDE) in Seoul, South Korea. During this time, he focused on developing data-driven AI solutions for various industrial domains, including Space & Earth Applications, Surveillance & Observation Systems, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Robotics.
He was a Visiting Student with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tokyo University of Science, Japan, in 2016 and the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Queen's University of Belfast, United Kingdom, in 2017, and also an intern Ph.D. student with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan, in 2018.
His research interests are not only finding optimal solutions for many practical issues in Data Science, AI/ML, but also applying various theories such as Machine Learning, Convex Optimization, for Signal Processing, Wireless Communication, and Smart Grid Systems.
