I am an economist and policy consultant specializing in development economics, political economy, and labour economics.
My current research agenda leverages geospatial data, machine learning, spatial econometrics, and causal inference to explore key issues in economic development, structural transformation, labour market dynamics, inequality, and poverty.
Currently, I am a PhD candidate in international development at Nagoya University. I hold a master’s degree in political economy from King’s College London and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cairo University.
I am also a senior economist at Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies (ACPSS) in Egypt, where I have conducted research, policy analysis, and consultancy since 2012.
