Welcome!
The Huoh Lab explores the convergence of immune mechanisms, nuclear condensate function and human disease.
The Huoh Laboratory studies how self-polymerizing nuclear proteins regulate gene expression programs in immunity. Our work focuses on transcriptional regulators such as Autoimmune regulator (Aire) and members of the Speckled-protein (SP) family, which form nuclear condensates that control diverse immune processes, including T cell tolerance, antiviral immunity, and immune homeostasis. By integrating biochemistry, cell biology, molecular immunology, and genomics, we aim to uncover how these assemblies control transcriptional programs in immune cells, and how disruption of these assemblies contributes to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
