The Hunger is a British/Canadian television horror anthology series, co-produced by Scott Free Productions, Telescene Film Group Productions and the Canadian premium television channel The Movie Network. It was created by Jeff Fazio.

Originally shown on the Sci Fi Channel in the UK, The Movie Network in Canada and Showtime in the United States, the series was broadcast from 1997 to 2000, and is internally organized into two seasons. Each episode was based around an independent story introduced by the host; Terence Stamp hosted each episode for the first season, and was replaced in the second season by David Bowie. Stories tended to focus on themes of self-destructive desire and obsession, with a strong component of soft-core erotica; popular tropes for the stories included cannibalism, vampires, sex, and poison.

Thank you for all your posts, it has been interesting reading other perspectives. I have never posted a review or comments about anything on the internet before, but there has been something so unsettling about this book series that I simply just need to express myself about it, and hopefully hear your thoughts.

I do think that this series is meant to make us think about our lives and how we treat other people especially the ones that love us and the ones that hate us. Do we stoop to their level or do we rise above and use our morals to make the right decisions instead of what the media and government is telling us. I am a very liberal person so it only makes me think about how easy it is for people with so much (the capital) to not think about or try and understand the desperation of the poor and under employeed (the districts).

A profound change of the global food and agricultural system is needed to nourish today's 800 million hungry and the additional 2 billion increase in global population expected by 2030. The University of Pretoria (South Africa), United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) SDG Hub for Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture, recognizes the importance of research and innovation in food and agriculture in contributing to this movement of change. In celebration of the 2019 World Food Day, UNAI is collaborating with the university on a series of articles focusing on food security in Africa. In this first article, the University of Pretoria explores the challenges posed by climate change and droughts in reaching zero hunger.

The fight to end poverty and hunger through agriculture has become more difficult with the challenge of climate change. Ending poverty, hunger and malnutrition and climate change have to be tackled simultaneously. Droughts and floods and the impact they have on infrastructure, health and diseases are felt most by the poor, and climate change hinders their ability to produce food and their access to resources and basic life necessities.

Droughts, as well as other climate change events, increase the complexities of ending poverty, hunger and malnutrition, and thus mitigation efforts must be included in any efforts to address these issues.

The Hunger Games: In the first book in the series, we follow the representatives from District 12, Katniss and Peeta, in their quest to win the Hunger Games. Trained by the only living Hunger Games victor from their district, Katniss and Peeta enter an uneasy alliance as they fight for survival and for a better life for their district.

I made this account to share this because I'm so excited. I loved Skin Hunger/the restoration of magic series by Kathleen Duey. It's maybe one of my favourite fantasy series of all time, and as the typical trope the third book in the series was never written. Or so I thought! I followed her progress on the book through her blog religiously. And at some point the bad news did hit that tragically she had gotten dementia and unfortunately passed away. I met her widower on a plane this past week and I want to share this. I never suggested to people to read this series; it was one of those series that is so good its hard to put down the second book and have no hope for a finally. (Much like pat Rothfuss books). And now I regret that severely. I think many fans felt that sting and didn't share her work and that likely hurt the sales of these truly incredible novels. Talking to her widower, he informed me Kathleen DID finish a full draft of the final manuscript, but Simon and Schuster have told him repeatedly they don't want to publish it. Evidently the first two books didn't make as much as they had hoped and so they see no point in publishing the final after her passing. This trilogy is in my book as one of the greatest ever written, I implore anyone who doesn't own a copy to purchase one (I tried to link it here) restoration of magic book 1. Maybe there aren't a ton of fans like me left, its been years since the first book and sequel came out. But this is a woman who deserves to have her last book published. Dementia is so unfair in who it takes and she was so young when it took her. I also think her fans deserve the closure. I don't know if writing letters to S&S would work, but I do believe money and Fandom talks. I hope if you haven't read the series you will purchase a copy and fall in love with this woman's writing the same way that I did many years ago.

Like seriously. I disovered this series from a YouTuber named Super Eyepatch Wolf. He usually covers really cool stuff and I usually end up liking the anime or manga he usually talks about so I figured hey might as well give this game a shot. His video on it was really good and the game seemed really interesting.

The Hunger Games was released in September 2008. Catching Fire, the second book of The Hunger Games series, was published September 1, 2009. Mockingjay was released August 24, 2010, and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was published May 19, 2020.
