Alberto Ortona

Alberto Ortona is Full Professor at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), where he leads the Hybrid Materials Laboratory. He has over 20 years of experience in designing, processing, and testing complex ceramic architectures for aerospace, catalysis, and energy applications. His research combines materials science, computational design, and additive manufacturing to develop advanced oxide and carbide ceramics as well as hybrid composites. He has authored over 100 publications, holds more than 10 patents, and serves as editor of the Journal of the American Ceramic Society and evaluator for the Swiss National Science Foundation.
