In another universe, there exists a race known as the Cherubs. One Cherub had spent eons roaming the galaxy. But the time had come for her to search for a mate. One day she sensed the presence of another of her kind. She tracked his scent and found along the way the destruction that he had caused.

She pursued him for many sweeps until the chase came to an end at a black hole. The moment they meet, they both undergo a massive transformation. They battle for sweeps as massive serpents until one is defeated and fertilized. In this case, the female Cherub is victorious.

Her mate, now fertilized, goes off in search of a planet next to a dying star to lay the egg that would become Caliborn and Calliope. This planet is called Earth C.
