Hsiu-Ting Yu (游琇婷) is Professor of Quantitative Psychology in the Department of Psychology at National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei, Taiwan, and a Researcher at the NCCU Research Center for Mind, Brain, and Learning. Her research develops and evaluates statistical and psychometric methods for psychological science, with particular attention to multilevel and latent variable models, psychometric network modeling, intensive longitudinal data, research synthesis, and the quality of psychological measurement.
She received her Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2007, where she also earned an M.S. in Statistics and an M.A. in Psychology. Before joining NCCU in 2016, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at Leiden University and the Inter-University Graduate School of Psychometrics and Sociometrics (IOPS) in the Netherlands, and then Assistant Professor of Psychology at McGill University in Canada from 2009 to 2016.
Her doctoral work was recognized with the APA Division 5 Distinguished Dissertation Award and the AERA Outstanding Quantitative Dissertation Award, both in 2008. At NCCU she has received the Award of Outstanding Excellence in Research (2023), the Outstanding Teaching Award (2023), and the Excellent Mentor Award (2020). She has served the field as Associate Editor of Psychometrika (2019 to 2023) and currently serves as Associate Editor of Behaviormetrika and of the Chinese Journal of Psychology (中華心理學刊).
