Hristiana Vidinova Assistant Professor University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business
I am an Assistant Professor at UT Austin.
My research primarily centers on understanding the impact of financial reporting rules for bank stability and credit cycles. I have a growing interest in corporate social responsibility research, especially related to gender inequality. I explore how informational frictions and behavioral biases shape market outcomes, and aim to provide practical insights and policy implications. I am mainly interested in theory and theory-based research, which I often combine with other methods.
Prior to pursuing a PhD, I worked as a macroeconomist at the Ministry of Finance's Agency for Economic Analysis and Forecasting in Bulgaria. I also worked as an analytics consultant at Experian where I specialized in economic modelling, credit risk, stress testing and IFRS 9.
I hold PhD degree in accounting from University of Chicago, MBA and MA degree in Social Sciences from University of Chicago, MPhil Economics from the University of Oxford, and BSc Economics from Sofia University.
Beyond academia, I love spending time with my family, painting, hiking, and dancing.
