I have owned VueScan Professional since 2010, and have never paid an upgrade fee for new versions. I am still using the Canon scanner that was unsupported by Canon in 2010, presently on macOS Big Sur 11.5.1. I receive zero compensation or product from the vendor for mentioning their produce here.

I have a scanner HP Scanjet G2410 (Flatbed Style) and I tried connecting it to my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with the hope that my PC will automatically detect it but 'Simple Scan' application showed a message as 'No scanners detected'. So I went to Software & Updates > Additional Drivers where I selected following option to see if anything works;
