The PCoIP Agent is a standalone software application installed on a virtual computer or remote workstation that will securely encode the desktop and efficiently stream pixels-only to the PCoIP Client. There are different versions of agents available for supporting both standard and graphics PC architectures.

In order to grant Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions, the macOS agent machine must display a graphical user interface. During installation, you must launch Anyware Agent.app to grant user permissions.

The UpdateContainerAgent API isn't supported. For instructions on how to update the SSM Agent or the Amazon ECS agent on your external instances, see Updating the AWS Systems Manager Agent and Amazon ECS container agent on an external instance.

The following domains are used for communication between the Amazon ECS service and the Amazon ECS agent that's installed on your external instance. Make sure that traffic is allowed and that DNS resolution works. For each endpoint, region represents the Region identifier for an AWS Region that's supported by Amazon ECS, such as us-east-2 for the US East (Ohio) Region. The endpoints for all Regions that you use should be allowed. For the ecs-a and ecs-t endpoints, you should include an asterisk (for example, ecs-a-*).

In many cases of remote working, users are not always connected to VPN, and in this case, the desktop agent cannot communicate often enough with the UserLock service to log events, and enforce multi-factor authentication and contextual restrictions.

Implementing the UserLock Anywhere provides an alternative method by allowing the agent to contact the service through the Internet when network connection is not established. By doing this, the desktop agent will communicate with the UserLock server at the time of login without the need to connect to VPN.

If you want to accelerate the contact process to UserLock Anywhere when the agent does not have direct connection with the UserLock server, we advise to deploy the FQDN name of the UserLock server using a group policy as explained here.

Configure "SessionsWithoutNetworkLogoffAgentInternet" with the number of minutes the Desktop agent will wait between each request for the list of sessions to interact with. We recommend that you do not configure with less than 10 minutes so as not to increase the workload of UserLock. By default, this feature is disabled (-1). If required, this setting can be configured through group policies (see here for details).

The CloudWatch agent can be used to automatically collect metrics on CPU, RAM, and disk usage from workstations for comprehensive monitoring and analysis. The installation and configuration of the CloudWatch agent can be achieved with the assistance of a PowerShell script. This script streamlines the process by initially downloading the agent installation package from a predetermined source and proceeds to install the agent on the workstations.

Following the installation, the PowerShell script further configures the agent by generating or modifying the agent configuration file. Within this file, the specific metrics to be gathered (such as CPU, RAM, and disk usage) are explicitly defined. Upon completing the configuration, the script initiates the CloudWatch agent, thereby enabling the reporting and collection of metrics.

Integrating this PowerShell script into the deployment and configuration workflow allows users to streamline the process of installing and configuring the CloudWatch agent. This ensures consistent metric collection from workstations and facilitates automated monitoring of the environment.

The EC2 instances used as workstations run a PCoIP agent on them. HP Anyware has two agent types, a standard agent or a graphics agent that uses GPU acceleration. The agent periodically saves metrics information into log files. The strategy we will be using is to configure the AWS CloudWatch Agent in workstations with AWS SSM to push these logs into CloudWatch Logs, apply a CloudWatch Log Filter to send specific log lines to be processed by an AWS Lambda that will push the metrics to CloudWatch Metrics.

The logs of the agent are located in /var/log/pcoip-agent/ (Linux) or C:\ProgramData\Teradici\PCoIPAgent\logs (Windows), so we need to install and configure the CloudWatch agent to push logs from there. The configurations are templates that Terraform will parse and save in AWS SSM parameters:

To install and configure automatically the CloudWatch agent in workstations, we will use AWS Systems Manager (AWS SSM). We will create an AWS SSM document and an association between this document and our workstations.

AWS CloudWatch agent is used to push logs from workstations to AWS CloudWatch logs; AWS CloudWatch Log Subscription is used to filter logs and execute a processing lambda; AWS CloudWatch Metrics is used to store the results.

The proposed settlement resolves, on a nationwide basis, all claims asserted against Anywhere in the Burnett and Moehrl cases and releases the Company, all subsidiaries, brands, affiliated agents, and franchisees. The proposed settlement is not an admission of liability, nor does it concede or validate any of the claims asserted against Anywhere.

"I am pleased that Anywhere has reached a nationwide settlement with the plaintiffs in the Burnett and Moehrl cases," said Ryan Schneider, Anywhere chief executive officer and president. "We believe this is the right course of action to remove future uncertainty and ongoing legal expense, serving the best interests of the company, our affiliated agents and franchisees, and shareholders, and enabling Anywhere to focus on moving real estate to what's next."

"The proposed settlement provides releases for our owned brokerage operations and agents as well as our franchisees and their affiliated agents, a priority for Anywhere in resolving these claims," said Sue Yannaccone, chief executive officer and president, Anywhere Brands and Anywhere Advisors.

"Anywhere has been adopting or calling on the industry to adopt many of the settlement's proposed practice changes, which promote more transparency and simplification for both consumers and real estate agents," continued Yannaccone. "As an industry leader, Anywhere strongly believes in the value of both buyer and seller agents to help consumers successfully navigate one of life's most expensive and impactful transactions, and that consumers will make the choice to pay for their valuable service without mandatory rules. We remain fully committed to supporting all agents as they expertly serve their clients."

Second, Anywhere has agreed to advise and remind company owned brokerages, franchisees, and affiliated agents that the Company has no rule requiring offers of compensation. Anywhere continues to see the economic benefits that offers of compensation bring to both sellers and buyers and the importance of making sure that both buyers and sellers have access to the professional services that agents provide.

"It is in the economic best interests of both buyers and sellers to work with experienced trusted advisors," said Yannaccone. "We strongly believe in sellers making offers of compensation to buyers' agents to bring more eligible buyers to a listing, which increases the likelihood of a successful transaction. Certain MLSs that have already removed the mandatory requirement or eliminated a minimum amount have helped facilitate seller choice in those markets as well as provide for continued access to both buyer and seller agent services."
