Howwaz is designed to keep your workout data on your device. It needs no account and does not ask for your name or email address. We do not receive the Apple Health records Howwaz reads or the images you create with it.
1. Health information
With your permission, Howwaz reads workouts from Apple Health through HealthKit. This includes:
each workout’s type, date, duration, and recorded details such as weather and elevation,
workout routes,
related measurements such as distance, energy, heart rate, steps, flights climbed, swimming strokes, running speed and power, and cycling power and cadence.
Workout routes contain the locations recorded during a workout.
Howwaz uses this data on your device to list your workouts, show their details, and create workout images. It is not uploaded or sent to us or to anyone else. Howwaz only reads data and does not write to Apple Health. You can refuse or revoke access at any time in the Health app or in your device settings, but Howwaz cannot show your workouts without it.
2. Photos and the images you create
You choose background photos with the system photo picker, which gives Howwaz access only to the photos you select. Howwaz does not keep a copy of a background photo. A saved layout remembers a photo background as transparent. Images are created on your device.
When you save an image, Howwaz asks for permission to add photos to your library. This permission does not let Howwaz see your existing photos. When you share an image, it goes to the app or service you choose, which handles it under its own privacy policy.
Images can show your route, the date and time of a workout, and health measurements, so review each image before you share it.
3. Local storage and deletion
Your app preferences, such as the unit system and the image language, are stored on your device. So is the last image layout for each type of workout. A layout records which elements are shown, where they are placed, and how they are styled, not your workout values. We cannot remotely access or delete this information.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Your original records stay in Apple Health, and images you saved stay in Photos; manage them there. Revoking a permission stops further access but does not remove images you have already saved or shared.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Payments are processed by Apple, and we do not receive your payment card details. Howwaz uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access, unlock Howwaz Pro, and analyse subscriptions. For this, RevenueCat receives purchase information, a randomly generated app user ID, basic app and device information, and information about how the Howwaz Pro purchase screen is used. RevenueCat does not receive your health information, workout routes, photos, or images. For more information, see RevenueCat’s privacy policy (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/). Deleting Howwaz does not cancel an App Store subscription.
5. Apple services
Route maps in workout details are loaded from Apple Maps, which receives the requests needed to display the map area. Apple handles this under Apple’s Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww/). The same policy covers Apple Health, the photo picker, sharing, and App Store purchases.
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics.
6. Advertising, analytics and support
Howwaz shows no third-party advertising and contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not sell personal information, use health data for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
If you contact support, we receive the information you send, such as your contact details, your message, and any attachments. Please share only what is needed to resolve your request.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or our practices change. Updates will appear on this page with a new date. For privacy questions, contact SUPPORT.
8. Consent
By using Howwaz, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
