How We Feel is a personal wellness diary: mood, water, meals, medicines, habits, fasting, measurements, progress photos and health records, with a friendly bear mascot called Fluffy. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does with your information. It matches exactly what version 1.28.0 does.
The short version
You do not need an account. There is no sign-up, no e-mail address and no password.
Everything you record is stored on your device only. We do not run a server that stores your diary and we cannot see it.
The app contains no advertising, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no AI service and no tracking. It does not ask for the App Tracking Transparency permission and does not share data with anyone.
The only network requests the app makes are anonymous product look-ups to the public Open Food Facts database when you scan a barcode or search for a packaged food, and Apple's own StoreKit for purchases.
What stays on your device
Saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad, and nowhere else:
Profile answers from onboarding (name or nickname, sex, age, height, weight, goals, activity level, routine) and the nutrition plan calculated from them.
Mood check-ins, water intake, habits, medicines and dose log, health records (including any photo or document you attach), the food diary, fasting sessions, body measurements, progress photos, recipes and saved meals, meal plans and grocery lists.
Your preferences (language, theme, reminder times) and a local copy of your Premium status so the app opens in the right state offline.
If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. Settings > Your data lets you delete the nutrition history at any time without deleting the app.
What is sent over the internet, and why
Packaged-food look-up (Open Food Facts): when you scan a barcode or type a food name in the search box, the app sends only the barcode or the search text to Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org), a public, community-maintained database, and shows the nutrition data it returns. No name, account, device identifier or advertising identifier is included; the request identifies the app as "HowWeFeel" and includes our contact e-mail, as Open Food Facts asks of every API user. If you are offline, the look-up fails gracefully and you can log the food manually.
App Store purchases (Apple StoreKit): Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple. The app checks your purchase status with Apple on launch and when you tap "Restore purchases". Apple's privacy policy governs the payment; we never see your card details or Apple ID.
That is the complete list. The app makes no other network requests.
Permissions the app may ask for
Each permission is requested only when you use the related feature, never at launch:
Camera: to scan product barcodes, and to take a progress photo or a photo for a health record.
Photo library: to pick a progress photo or a health-record attachment from your library. Copies are kept in the app's private storage.
Notifications: only if you turn on a water, meal or medicine reminder. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
You can change any permission later in iOS Settings.
Children
How We Feel is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Use every feature without an account; the app works fully offline except for packaged-food look-ups.
Delete your history from Settings > Your data, or delete the app to remove everything.
Contact md.goaltech@gmail.com with any question about your data.
Changes
If a future version changes what the app sends or stores, this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated first, and the change will be described in the version notes.
