Open X'Pert HighScore Plus and click on the File menu.
Select Import and choose the format of your XRD data file. X'Pert HighScore Plus supports various formats, such as .raw, .xye, .udf, .cpi, etc.
Browse to the location of your XRD data file and click Open.
Your XRD data will be imported and displayed as a pattern in the main window. You can zoom in or out, adjust the scale, or change the display options using the toolbar buttons.
How to identify phases in X'Pert HighScore Plus
Another important task in XRD analysis is to identify the phases present in your sample based on the peaks in your XRD pattern. You can do this by using the phase identification feature in X'Pert HighScore Plus. You can do this by following these steps:
Make sure your XRD data is imported and displayed in the main window.
Click on the Search/Match button on the toolbar or press F9.
A new window will open where you can select the database and the search criteria for phase identification. You can choose from various databases, such as PDF-4+, ICDD, COD, etc., or create your own custom database.
You can also adjust the search parameters, such as 2theta range, peak width, peak intensity, background subtraction, etc., to optimize the results.
Click on the Start button to begin the phase identification process.
X'Pert HighScore Plus will search for the best matches between your XRD pattern and the database entries and display them in a table. You can sort the table by various criteria, such as match quality, figure of merit, number of peaks matched, etc.
You can also view the graphical representation of the matches by clicking on the Show Matches button. This will overlay the database patterns on your XRD pattern and show you how well they fit.
You can select or deselect the matches by checking or unchecking the boxes in the table or on the graph. You can also edit or delete the matches by right-clicking on them.
Once you are satisfied with the matches, you can save them as a report or export them as a file using the File menu.
How to perform peak fitting in X'Pert HighScore Plus
Sometimes you may want to perform peak fitting in X'Pert HighScore Plus to obtain more information about your peaks, such as their position, width, shape, area, etc. You can do this by using the peak fitting feature in X'Pert HighScore Plus. You can do this by following these steps:
Make sure your XRD data is imported and displayed in the main window.
Select the region of interest by dragging your mouse over the desired peaks or using the Select Region button on the toolbar.
Click on the Analyze button on the toolbar or press F8.
A new window will open where you can select the peak model and the fitting parameters for peak fitting. You can choose from various peak models, such as Gaussian, Lorentzian, Pseudo-Voigt, etc., or create your own custom model.
You can also adjust the fitting parameters,
