Most of the Canon errors appear due to small issues which can be fixed manually.
How to fix a Canon printer error?
Canon printer errors can appear due to various reasons. When you get into the error; try to find out the actual cause. Once you find the cause of your error then troubleshooting the error becomes easy.
Paper Jam
Paper jam is the most common error on Canon as well as in every printer device. This error is more common on old printer models. Paper jamming occurs when some junk is stuck in the paper rollers. When you see the paper jam message on the screen; open the printer and remove the cartridge. Now check the paper rollers. If you see any junk like paper chunks then remove them. Clean your printer to remove all the dust. Paper jam issues can also appear when the rollers draw multiple pages simultaneously. Keep the paper sheet aligned on the tray. Now reinstall the cartridge on your printer and give the print command.
Unable to print
Whenever you get any printing error; check the cartridge. Open the cartridge door and take out the cartridge carefully. If the cartridge is empty then use a new cartridge. If you don’t want to ruin the ink quality then purchase an original cartridge. Third-party cartridges ruin the printing speed and may damage the printer also. But if you take hundreds of printouts daily then purchasing a new ink cartridge every time can be costly. Instead of purchasing cartridges, you can refill your original cartridge. Purchase good quality ink for your printer. Refill the ink carefully because the ink has some carbon content which is harmful to your lungs. After refilling the ink tanks, close the lid tightly to ensure that no ink can leak otherwise it will damage the printer. Now reinstall the cartridge on the Canon printer. Give a print command and check whether your printing issues get fixed or not.
Slow printing
Slow printing issues can occur due to various reasons. If you are using a wireless printer then the weak connection can get you into slow printing. Place the printer near to the router and then try to take a printout. If your printer is still working slowly then connect the PC and printer via USB cable. Use a high-speed USB cable for taking printouts in good speed. The printing speed starts decreasing with time. Coloured printouts take more time in printing. If you have the same simple printouts like Word files, pdf etc then you can switch the printing mode. Use the low-quality mode. This mode prints with good speed and uses very less amount of ink which means you can also save your ink. If you have to take colourful printouts then you can switch back to normal or high-quality mode easily.
Faded printout
Faded printouts appear when your cartridge is about to get empty. If you have ink on your cartridge but the print quality is still not good then you have installed a low-quality cartridge. If you want quality printouts then you should always buy original cartridges or refill good-quality ink. Also, check the quality of your paper. If you are using thick or thin paper then the ink gets bloated. Use good quality pages for printing.
Unable to connect
Unable to connect error is very common on wireless printers. Check the WPS pin on your router. If the pin is enabled then try placing your printer near to the router. For wired printers, check the USB cables. If your USB cable is loose then use another high-speed USB cable for connecting your printer and PC. Some of the errors get fixed by resetting the printer. Reset your Canon printer and then try to take printouts. If you are unable to fix your errors manually then you can ask the Canon printer support team for help.
