Sunny as much as I want to help you the only resolution to this is to contact facebook and tell them about this issue. You are right about PayPal is initiating it's because PayPal is the who process the transaction and the email which is linked to that transaction is also linked to facebook messenger. Sunny your need to contact facebook about this since someone is owning the old email address that is linked to your PayPal account. It looks like you stepped away from our conversation. That's ok! I had this problem too . It seemed to occur after an upgrade, I could add new accounts, and disable old ones, but unable to remove old accounts using the proper windows. I eventually found that account information appeared to be stored in the directory

There where 3 files in there accounts.* ; I removed them all and rebooted the computer, and found all the online accounts where gone, I then re-created the new accounts manually as needed.

Well its a good advice for protecting the account you have but in face what if you cannot search your phone number, cannot figure what email they change. Its hard for me to retrieve my facebook account if i dont have a clue what will i do.

I followed your steps on how to get into my facebook account. Someone has changed my recovery email and the phone number I have no longer works. But after I hit recover account. It just takes me to questions where. I have to enter the info. That has been changed. So if someone could help please

When it comes time to remove an account, we can only hope the service will prevent the private information in the account from being recovered by an unauthorized third party. The four biggest Web services--Google, Facebook, Yahoo, and Windows Live--let you delete an account with only a few clicks. I am trying to share a set on Facebook. When I click on the FB share button it originally took me to the FB permissions pop-up. I accepted the permissions but then it gave me this error message:

This account has already been linked to a Yahoo! account. Click here to learn more. (4091000000).

I clicked to learn more and I have searched my yahoo account and see NO linked accounts. It actually says "you have no linked accounts." I double checked what yahoo ID is associated with my Flickr account on Flickr and it is the same ID as the yahoo ID that I am signing in as with the "no linked accounts."

I have no idea what is going on but it sure is frustrating!

After you sign in to that page with your Facebook log in, click on the "Remove" link and a pop-up screen will prompt you to confirm if you want the account to be unbound.

Once you unbound your account, go to Facebook to remove the Yahoo! app and then come back to Flickr to link your account with Facebook updates.

Can't get it working either. Linked from within Yahoo to facebook and I get an email that I've linked my account but I get the errormessage when i try to share my photos. Linked up from within facebook but also didn't work. Already unlinked as well and then tried again but same result.

I have tried signing out of both accounts and signing in again. I have tried a different browser. I have tried managing my yahoo settings but something seems to be wrong at the "Linked accounts" page:

"Sorry, we are unable to display the websites you are linked to. Please try again later."

is there any chance you can unbind my fb acct from my old flikr acct I'm getting error code 4231000000 I finally remembered my current flickr acct back from dec of 2008 so i had just deleted the new one but now i can't add my facebook to this account

To do so, click on Account and then on Application Settings. You will then see applications that you have used with your account. You can then Edit Settings for each application which controls the permissions granted to the application. Or you can click on the cross sign next to the application to remove it from accessing your account altogether.

Click the "Disconnect" link and then "OK" if you want to remove the link between your Twitter and Facebook accounts. You are not required to disconnect the link between Twitter and Facebook; removing the check marks from "my Facebook profile" and "my Facebook page" is enough to stop Twitter from posting to Facebook. Do not disconnect the accounts if you plan to re-enable the Facebook posting feature in the future.

Hi Mark, I have tried your suggestion with one of my defective e-mail addresses, but it does not work in Chrome. I also checked Contacts in Firefox, but it wasnt there (as I have removed it as soon as I found the defective version).
