I have researched all kinds of workarounds but is there a way to move the song that I just downloaded to my phone (so it's sitting in the download folder) to the music app (without going to itunes on my mac)?

I recently installed OS Catalina, and I'm having issues transferring music from the music app to my iPhone. I selected manually manage music, movies, and TV shows. The questions I have are: Do I transfer the music through finder

I have found that the most efficient way to load/unload music is to sync the music you want on your phone from Finder, after selecting the 'sync selected artists, albums, genre...' option, but beware that it will delete all the music you currently have on your phone. Once you've bitten the bullet, as I did last week, loading/removing music is kinda manageable. It's nowhere near as easy, simple or straightforward as it was with iTunes, but it kinda works, and at least, if you updates some info on your Mac, it then gets updated on your phone too, so there are *some* advantages.

It is a bit cumbersome when you have an extensive music library and don't necessarily want everything from an artist on your phone as you'll have to sync individual albums or songs, but it's the easiest way I have found to manage my music.

Hi Supong, thanks for replying back, however it didn't work. I was able to manage to transfer my music from my iMac to my iPhone. But, I can't sync my phone, it says iPhone cannot be synced because it cannot be found.

Glad to hear that you can manage to transfer music to your phone. The issue that your iphone cannot be found is a saparate case. Since both Catalina and iOS are new there is possibility that some glitch may occur to specific model of iPhone. Try reconnect your iPhone to your iMac using different cable or restore your iPhone. I hope this may help.

Supong, I've tried reconnecting using a different cable, but it doesn't work. I dont want to restore my iPhone again because it took me a very long time to get my iPhone restored. Is there anyway to get it sync and manage to transfer my music from my iMac to my iPhone. I'll contact apple support again and hopefully they will have a solution. Or I'll wait for an update either from Mac OS or iOS 13.

I do have a samba share, as all my music is located to a NAS, which I have access from all my devices.

My problem is, where/how to copy files on my iPhone, so I can access them easily.

Even with a Samba access app, I have to download them into its own folder, and then copy them to my Music app folder.
