My apple watch is no longer entering sleep mode with my phone. It stopped working after upgrading my iPhone 7 to an iPhone 14 Pro. I have a sleep schedule set on my phone and Sharing the focus status is still set across all my devices. I have tried resetting my apple watch with backups and setting it up new with no results.

I changed a random setting under Settings > Focus > Sleep (Specifically I gave an app notification access and then promptly revoked it) doing this made my watch enter sleep mode correctly with my phone.

Previously Do Not Disturb mode was the only mode that was matching on my watch and sleep was not. I tried Work focus mode due to your suggestion, and realized that I still needed to set up the permissions for work focus mode. After doing so it worked on my watch, so then I tried tweaking my Sleep Focus settings and voila! Sleep mode worked once again.

While updating my iPad Air to iOS 7.0.6, it went into an endless loop of cycling between the white Apple screen and the whirling dashes. I can't even reliably shut it down. It seems a prime candidate for recovery mode, but unfortunately I can't get it there. When I try to enter recovery mode by attaching to iTunes then pressing the home key and then reattaching theUSB cable when attached to iTunes, I just go back into the same endless loop Apple screen / whirling dashes cycle.

However in all of my sequences last night of trying Power button / Home Button, I may have inadvertently entered DFU mode because I did twice start recovery mode, recognized by iTunes etc etc. But the iOS download must have been taking too long (it was telling me 1-2hrs) because the iPad eventually left recovery mode and went back to cycling between the Apple screen & the whilring dashes.

For others who might have this issue, I searched for hours because I too could not get into Recovery mode. Turns out the Apple documentation is simply wrong. Here is how you actually get a device into Recovery mode:

Note: I did try entering the passcode several times a day before and it got disabled for 15 minutes at the longest setting. However, I waited over 12 hours before I tried again, so the 15 minutes should not be a problem. To be sure, I waited another 15 minutes and repeated the whole process to no avail.

If you enter the wrong passcode on your iPhone Lock Screen too many times, an alert lets you know that your iPhone is disabled. (Learn what to do if you see "[Device] unavailable" or "Security Lockout" on your iPhone or iPad.)

I have an iPhone 5 running 10.3.4 and I want to downgrade it to 8.4.1. It is jailbroken with S0cket and I installed Open SSH, Open SSL, and Drop Bear. I type the root password then it says enter kDFU mode and it is stuck for more than 10 minutes, should I wait longer? I checked the steps and followed it 100 % correctly, any way to fix this problem?

DFU or Device Firmware Upgrade mode allows all devices to be restored from any state. It is essentially a mode where the BootROM can accept iBSS. DFU is part of the SecureROM which is burned into the hardware, so it cannot be removed. On A7+ devices, it generates an ApNonce and recognizes APTickets as well, so even in DFU, it can accept an APTicket.

If you have hardware access to the SoC, you can either perform the above methods for your device by utilizing the GPIO_REQUEST_DFU1 and GPIO_REQUEST_DFU2 GPIO pins (previously HOLD_KEY and MENU_KEY) corresponding to Power and Home/Vol-, respectively, or by pulling your board's GPIO_FORCE_DFU pin high at SecureROM startup (unless you are using an iFPGA, where Force DFU mode is the default).

The EnterDFU function in the MobileDevice Library does not enter the true DFU Mode in the hardware. It's possible to enter the true DFU Mode without doing it manually, but it cannot be exited unless a restore is performed, as it creates a DFU Loop. This doesn't work with S5L8900 devices.

This is the device ID in the iPod touch (2nd generation), the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4, subsequent 32 bit devices, all 64 bit devices, and WTF mode. For more information on the protocol, see DFU 0x1227.

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help me.After updating my iPhone 11 to iOS 16 and tried to launch an app from xCode on it, I noticed that I didn't have dev mode enabled. When I went to Settings > Privacy & Security to toggle the Developer Mode on, it wasn't there. There is no Developer Mode option in my settings, the only option and the end of Privacy & Security is Lockdown Mode.

Hey, my developer mode option has just appeared today. I didn't do anything different since my last post as Apple Support had no idea why I couldn't see the option and they said they will get back to me but I heard nothing back yet. It was strange and frustrating to see the option just appear like that after so much time and effort to solve this issue ha. All I did was the steps Claude31 has mentioned above (which I have done many of times) and it just worked today. Anyway just wanted to let you know that I now have developer mode option up and running on my device. I have heard there are a lot of bugs with the iOS 16 so I guess we can just add this to the list of rare bugs.

I was able to fix this issue after enabling developer mode in iPhone settings and restarting the phone.THEN I connected it to my MacBook with both Apple Configurator, and Xcode opened. Pretty sure opening Xcode helped, as Dev Mode just appeared in settings without having to relaunch the settings.

I have a table view in which the cells are built differently depending on whether the table is editing or not. Specifically, the selection style is none when in edit mode and blue when not in edit mode.

Fixed a iphones 11 pro screen and left on my shelf until the customer could come and pick it up. After a month of waiting it had died on the shelf and when i knew that the customer was comming to pick it up it wouldn't charge. I cannot even enter diagnostic mode. Any ideas or tips for me to get it working again?

tried entering diagnostic mode on the phone by pushing volume up and down then holding power button(side button) nothing happens and after a few second it goes back to battery showing a almost empty battery... Can it be that the ribbon cable for the battery isn't connected all the way?

To enter diagnostic mode, press and hold both volume up and volume down. While still holding the buttons, connect the phone to a charger or computer, then release the buttons when the Apple logo appears.

Hello thanks for the comment. I worded myself a bit bad in the post. I tried enter diagnostic and hard reseting none of them works since the battery isn't charging enough if i remove the lightning cable it dies immediately. So I will go ahead and open it back up to see if the ribbon cable is damage. Thansk for your answer :D

Just to say for those who have issues putting their phones on recovery or DFU mode and this can happen with iphones

Download ReiBoot which is a tool that would do that for you then restore your phone via iTunes making sure your iTunes is up today , thus should get rid of activation error

Hope this would help

DFU mode lets the device interface with iTunes, update the firmware, and restore the OS without automatically installing the last downloaded version. It's useful for installing older versions of iOS if a beta persistently hangs your phone, or if a jailbreak goes bad.

Whether you accidentally entered recovery mode or you just did it to experiment with your new iPhone, you may not be keen on restoring it. In that case, you can manually and safely exit the recovery mode. To do this, simply disconnect your iPhone from the computer and keep holding the side button until the recovery mode screen goes away.

Did you manage to enter recovery mode on your first attempt from your iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, or iPhone 12 Pro? Did it help in resolving the issues you were facing on your device? Do share your personal experiences and valuable opinions in the comments section down below.

If you want to reinstall or restore iOS or iPadOS on your iPhone or iPad, you need to put your device into Recovery mode. In some rare cases (such as boot loops or other more significant issues), you may need to trigger the DFU mode instead.

Triggering the Recovery mode is much easier than triggering the DFU mode. If you can restore iOS or iPadOS in Recovery mode, we advise you to do so and use DFU mode only in rare cases, such as when encountering boot loops.

It's not easy to enter in DFU mode and you may need to retry multiple times. If you see anything displayed on your device such as a logo, your device might be in Recovery or Normal mode, but not in DFU mode. If reinstalling iOS in Recovery mode works, that's good. Otherwise try again to enter it in DFU mode.

Important: Putting your iPhone into recovery mode may also factory reset it, meaning that all of its data will be erased and you'll have to set it up again afterwards. As such, treat recovery mode as a last resort.

Now, choose which percentage you'd like your phone to automatically go to low power mode once it reaches. For instance, I choose that when my phone falls below 50%, I want it to enter a low power mode. Click next.

This tutorial applies to all iPhones that lack a Home button, including the newly released iPhone 13, and all of its variations. In this case, when I mention iPhone 13, it includes all models in the iPhone 13 lineup.

Entering recovery mode is similar to the force restart process, with a few differences. First and foremost, to enter recovery mode, you must connect your iPhone 13 to a computer with a Lightning to USB cable.

If connected to a Mac, you should see a Finder window stating that your iPhone has been placed into recovery mode. macOS will then give you an option to either Update to the latest version of iOS, keeping your data, or to Restore iOS, which will perform a fresh and clean install of the latest version of iOS. 006ab0faaa
