So when I got home I charged my phone and it says Uber charged me 19 dollhairs beucase supposedly a driver came to my pick up point and then kept driving and it says she drove for 22 minutes after my pickup point. I ended up just walking home after my phone died beucase I figured my Uber app would just shut down too, like when my phone died, the app was still looking for a driver so I'm confused. I ended up disputing the fee, I guess she canceled later on and so I disputed it and Uber refunded me.

About 10 minutes after my ride concluded, I noticed I had a WhatsApp message (which is tied to my real phone number) from my Uber driver, soliciting me to use his transportation service for an excursion.

Unwanted solicitations aside, I was more proactively concerned from a safety standpoint moving forward. As someone who uses Uber frequently, it rubs me the wrong way knowing that a driver could access a phone number and uncover a ton of personal details about a person quite easily.

Though not all Uber drivers have a ulterior motives, there have been a number of unfortunate and terrible stories. These are just things to consider. Just because Uber uses a randomized number, the call still directs to your real number (including voicemail).

Yes. A portion of your cell phone bill can be taken as a deduction. There are multiple ways that you can determine how much should be deducted. One way, would be to estimate the percentage of time that you use your phone for this work, based on how many hours you work in a week or maybe the average number of hours you work in a week if it varies. Then deduct this percentage of the total bill.

You can estimate the time you use the phone for business versus personal and multiply that percentage by the phone bill to arrive at the deductible cost of the phone. It is best to keep some type of log, however, as you may need to defend the business use of the phone if you get audited.

You can deduct any expense that is ordinary and necessary for you business activity. So that would include the cost of maintaining your vehicle, which you could do by either tracking mileage or deducting the cost of the vehicle, gas, insurance and repairs.

VERIFY also ran our own tests of the claim. Using a phone that had below 20% battery and one that had more than 90%, VERIFY team members used the same location and destination and found identical prices.

Why would a driver waste his gas money to return your loat item? Just don't forget your phone if you love it that much. Other wise pay driver more than meager 20$ to get your item back. Your item is your responsibility.

This is 1100 iphone 14 pro max i bought just a month back. I am amazed a driver can steal and get away with no issues. do not use Uber if possible. their customer support is like robots and it sucks and if you end up with an a hole driver like me then forget your phone and your hard earned money.

I recently was in a similar situation, and I kept fighting back. I was able to keep going since I was not working, had savings to pay bills, no kids, recently divorced. If you have a family, or anything that I did not, I totally understand how most people would just move on with their life. But I hear you, its a f*cking (i used a lower case L) JOKE, almost as if these companies do not truly care for their customers, most of them do not even have a phone number anymore to call and f they do its not to a live rep. I truly sorry to hear of your sit.

After we got to the location and I got out as soon as I closed my door I was yelling and waving at him to stop as he sped off and was around the corner in 5 seconds giving me no time at all to go around to the other side and get my clothes. He knew the bag was in there because the bag was very big a large black trash bag that was on his side of the cat pressing against the back of his seat within 2 minutes I had went to the uber app and paid the 15 dollar fee to call him and ask him to bring my bag back which goes straight to them for there time. I genuinely felt like he did it on purpose for that 15 dollars

As a current uber driver i feel that driver was way out of line ive driven off with peoples phones etc and ive always returned the property as soon as im contacted or as soon as i find it in my vehicle ive been in some situations where the phone is question was the phone used to make the uber request and the phone being locked opened the emergency call list on the lock screen...

Yea it sucks on my end but id rather have good ratings and continue to get more frequent rides im not 100% sure of the ratings effect the request frequency but better safe then sorry.

I left a gift basket on a new year day which I won during a new year party. I called driver several times no respond. They taking advantage that customers can not do much. My advice ; next time call cops and tell them the driver took off before you reach your belongings. Make big issues. Maybe uber will change their polices.

Uber makes money off rides. So UBER bears some reponsibility. There must be class-action against uber for this particular cause. If driver wants to make money, this is 21st century and the driver should have work phone to be reachable. I repeat - either UBER solves this issue, or it must be sued by class of people who lost their items and nd could not reach the driver within first minutes or hours after a...

I repeat - either UBER solves this issue, or it must be sued by class of people who lost their items and nd could not reach the driver within first minutes or hours after a ride because uber made it impossible. Plus, if you refer to tech support, it gives your phone number to driver, right? This is not right way to do business.

Well it happened just yesterday, I left my phone in an uber cab and only to realise when it 20 mins gone, I immediately rushed to one of their offices to call the agents concerned and they reluctantly told me that they were done for the day..

Ā Imagine at that time I had clients to meet, well I guess I lost them.

Imagine at that time I had clients to meet, well I guess I lost them.

The next morning I went straight to their offices only for them to call the driver and he denied ever seeing my phone, the good thing I had details of the car number plate so I wanted to speak to him myself since I used an app not my email when requesting.

The uber agent refused to give me his details defending what the driver said, I left so helpless my phone was new and hadnt saved contacts and my documents on google drive, ....its obvious the uber guy took it!!!! Anyway I opened a police case with the number plate hoping he will be caught some day.

I dropped my phone in the back I would gladly have paid him to drive it back or of an uber. I could call and see on find my phone that it was going round in the cab all night. I would gladly have paid him an uber fare to drive it back or collected it from the lost property office.

However, he ignored the phone calling and obviously switched it off when he pulled up and finished his shift. I can imagine that he gets a lot of phones dropped in his cab and that with the right contact selling them on to be wiped and sold on is a decent earner for him- but it is still unethical and theft by finding is a crime. ff782bc1db
