This is basic OpSec. It is always better to use a dedicated device to connect to the internet for online financial transactions. If you only have one PC/laptop and you are are downloading those programs onto it you should have something like Trusteer installed on that device and its security settings should be as stringent as you can make them.

The Datacolor software has a shortcut that sometimes allows for what they call 'Spyderproof' where I can toggle between calibrated / uncalibrated effectively turning the laptop 'Generic PnP' profile off when I want to use the u2415. Except it is unreliable.

How To Download Spyder In Laptop

This is what I use after a poor experience with spyder as per the OP. What I found was exactly the same - on my dell ultrasharp, both calibrations have weird issues in the black points. I spent ages back and forth with tech support with a work around but it wasn't great and meant the blacks went overly contrasty in browsers only. So i've went back to uncalibrated. Before I did this I flicked between calibrated and uncalibrated states with the I1 display pro. The difference is subtle. Kind of blink and miss it subtle. So I decided why bother with the hassle - and I am now using the monitor in out of the box mode colour wise. Luckily Dell's ultrasharp range, esp the higher end models are good out of the box and not blue etc like laptop screens are.

The Spyder is an effective deterrent against theft and is the easiest way to help protect your laptop in office, hotels, school, libraries, labs, dorms. It is also ideal for retail applications, universities and trade shows etc.

and I wonder how many activations that includes. I want to calibrate monitors on 5 computers (my workstation, my tablet/laptop), living room and attic workstation, plus possibly some replacement computers coming up this year (finally).

License Grant. With respect to any monitor calibration software, Datacolor grants to you, and you accept, a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to install and use the Software in object code format on one or more computers at a single physical location, and on five additional laptop, notebook or other portable computers

I just got a Spyder 4 Pro to calibrate my screen since the ones supplied by Lenovo don't really work. My laptop has the AUO B156HW01 v4 screen which is rated for 95% NTSC gamut. After calibrating, there is a heavy green tint on the entire screen. When I used the Spyder on my other laptop with an average 65% sRGB screen it actually helped with the color without making things green. I was just using default everything since the Spyder software detected my screen automatically. What can I do to make the green go away?

I've been attempting to use this but the calibrated result just seems worse than my uncalibrated screen (uncalibrated actually looks better). It has a green tint, especially in the blacks and greys (as seen in the photos I took of SGL below with 'calibrated display' and default settings). I've done lots of Google searching but I can't seem to find a solution. I've used the recommended settings in the SpyderX Pro software. I've also ensured that no intense light was shining on my laptop.

First off check if the laptop has any ancillary functions running that relate to graphics; some companies like to bundle "helper" software in to the driver package, usually can be found down in the task bar and can be a pain in the sitting tool with overriding things, kill it and leave it dead. Also, before you start, make sure that there's nothing like auto-brightness (or these scaling warm modes that simulate daylight when it gets dark) set up on the monitor and that you have the display settings (RGB) set as flat as possible, and the brightness set to what the software recommends. Another handful of things, first is to let the display warm up for at least half an hour (even with these LCD the colour can drift a bit) before calibrating, then make sure the room where you are calibrating is neutral light (no strong light sources, daylight) and if the backlight of the screen is projected through the top case, in a similar way to how the older Macbook Pro would illuminate the logo, make sure the calibration panel isn't over that as light/colour from behind could affect the measurements.

First of all check if your laptop has some kind of autodimming ON and disable it. You may need to go deep into some vendor GPU configurations (intel iGPUs), please search online since it may vary with driver UI and IDNK all configurations. It may cause gamma shift across grayscale that we see in report,

Inconsistiencies across grey ramp (gray balance color tint, a*b* variations in grey) may be caused by (a not accurate) colorimeter, some autodimming messing up, user misconfiguration (too fast calibration speed configuration for a not so good screen) or graphics card limitations for calibration (graphics card LUT, common in laptops). You may solve the first 3 but not the 4th (if you suffer it).

Look into self-verify report (against display profile).

Since you made a XYZLUT profile, you store 3 different TRC (among other things) in ICM profile. Those curves for YOUR calibration shows that grey obtained after calibray that is not neutral, and profile stores it.

Why is it not neutral? Explanied in my previous messages, there a several causes and one is not correctable in a laptop.

But, it is also not "safe" in the same "no risk" meaning to use online banking at all or to use a laptop, because you cannot fully trust the online banking, the browser you use, the operating system or the hardware and firmware of the laptop. Additionally you cannot fully trust your internet provider, the vendor of the router etc.

I just bought Spyder 3 Pro unit to calibrate my monitor. Sure I got the ifo I needed before I bought it but I couldn't find out if I can install the software, thus use the calibration unit on as many monitors/laptops as I can. The item describtion only says that there is a licence within one company but how does the software know if it's in one company? Also, I don't use it in a company, I just want to calibrate my home computer, my gf's computer and my laptop.

During the instalation I was asked to enter my name, company name and serial number. I entred only the serial number as that was the only to fill up to complete the instalation.

My point is that maybe if I fill up My name and Company name the next time the software will require the names that I filled up before, right?

Yeah but during my first instalation left the name space blank.....

I don't want to get to the point that I will be able to calibrate only one monitor because I made the mistake with the first installation.

What do you guys think?
