How can shared music preferences create social bonds between people? A process model is developed in which music preferences as value-expressive attitudes create social bonds via conveyed value similarity. The musical bonding model links two research streams: (a) music preferences as indicators of similarity in value orientations and (b) similarity in value orientations leading to social attraction. Two laboratory experiments and one dyadic field study demonstrated that music can create interpersonal bonds between young people because music preferences can be cues for similar or dissimilar value orientations, with similarity in values then contributing to social attraction. One study tested and ruled out an alternative explanation (via personality similarity), illuminating the differential impact of perceived value similarity versus personality similarity on social attraction. Value similarity is the missing link in explaining the musical bonding phenomenon, which seems to hold for Western and non-Western samples and in experimental and natural settings.

While another user shared a music folder with me and I am able to play all the files in the audio player, I can tell that audio player is supporting that. No limitation there.

Did you check that there is no hidden file (I think it should be named .nomedia or .noaudio or something like that), that tells the audio player to not search in that folder for music files?

Folders on a file share that I, as a user, never opened yet, do not get imported in the audio player. After opening the artist folder in the file manager (my folder structure is music/[artist]/[album]/[song].mp3), it will get imported.

In your case, someone shared a folder but only his user-id has the entries in the filecache.

As as soon as you enter the folder, NC will index the folder and then add the entries to the filecache.

the only way to get around this in an automated way is to use the

Hello all. I'm a music producer and I work between two different Mac computers (a Mac mini desktop setup and a MacBook Pro for when I'm on the go). I'm currently using a folder inside of Dropbox to store all of my DAW song files (DAW stands for "Digital Audio Workstation"; it is the software I use to produce my music and save those song files into Dropbox).

I want to write a simple javascript-based (frontend only) dropbox music player. Just a dropbox file explorer, playlist and audio controls -- very basic for when I want to play some music without syncing the files locally.

If you want Roon to be able to access your music library that's stored on your Windows device, you need to first ensure that the folder is properly shared. Once the folder is shared it can be added as a watched folder in Roon. Please see the ...

- My music is on my OMV in a Samba shared folder called "Music" where user "Kodi" with password xxx has read-only access

- "Kodi" can find and read the music from Win10, Xubuntu 16.04 and Android

- My Pi running Kodi/LibreElec and/or RuneAudio can find and play "Music" (with user "Kodi" under "//IP-OMV/Music/")

- The same Pi running with Volumio and/or Pi MusicBox can not find "Music" (with user "Kodi" under "//IP-OMV/Music/") BUT is able to find and play a test Samba share on another Linux machine in the same network (with user "user" under "//IP-Linuxmachine/Shared_Folder/").

The idea behind the Shared Music Sessions was, and still is, to let the music do the talking, and so we build on the spirit of the traditional Irish seisin. At each event, there are Irish artists, and artists from the refugee community. We programme enough to leave space for more to join in as things get under way. We make sure everyone gets paid. The opportunity to earn money from your art when you are far from home, should never be underestimated. Neither should the power of music. Music communicates when language barriers get in the way; and music comes into its own when words are not enough. From Kerry to Cavan, Louth to Limerick, and all points in between, our Van has been able to pull up to hotels and guest houses, park in town squares, and open its doors at community centres and parish halls.

There has been poetry, trad, opera, folk, rap and rock. A chamber trio from Kyiv played, in black tie and ball gown, in the car park of a hotel in Co. Louth. Back home, they had been honoured for their services to music, and they showed pictures of President Zelensky presenting them with their medals. In Wexford, we had a magician for the children, while at another stop, the local school gave the class the morning off so their Irish-Ukrainian dance troupe could perform.

Over time, we have extended the sessions, adding more voices to meet all audiences. How much do arts and culture mean in the face of war? How much can songs help when people are forced far away from home and family? The answer is: immeasurably. Music and songs carry culture, feeling and memory across time and place. They bring people together. Voices can be raised in defiance, or shared in sympathy and community. There is celebration, and quieter moments of reflection.

The new recording took place during a residential weekend on Rathlin Island where young musicians came together to explore the traditional music, song, and dance of Ireland, Rathlin and Scotland. Arranged by tutor Deirdre Goodlad, it combines verses in the original Scots Gaelic, Irish, and English, with the accompanying video featuring stunning imagery of the island.

yeh, good idea, there, pressure points press on the verb reverse and/or echo freeze is very effective and simple.

I like pressing or trigging the tilt from pressure points. I treat the shared system like an expanded easel, i.e I start from the pressure point and rene and wobble:)

You can use Zoom to share your desktop, window, or application with meeting attendees. If you are sharing a video or audio clip from a website such as YouTube or Spotify, the audio from that clip can be shared through Zoom as well. To use this feature, you must have the Zoom Client on a mobile device, Mac or Windows PC; the "share sound during screen-share" feature is not accessible through the Zoom web client.

Note: Some apps may block sound from being shared for security and privacy reasons. Sharing your screen will also share any notifications on your screen so we recommend turning on Do not Disturb before sharing.

The Dewberry School of Music Shared Community Values Statement is the result of a collaborative project to identify and express the aspirational, shared community values and expectations for how community members will engage with each other. This statement was codeveloped with the Dewberry School of Music students, faculty, and administrators together.

These shared values can be adopted and applied by everyone in the community, and do not spotlight any one constituency. They can also be adopted and applied in any context, from the most formalized to the most informal professional contexts within the School of Music.

Back when someone shared a song with me on WhatsApp, I clicked on the link and Spotify opened it up straight to the song. Now, when I click on the link, a message appears that says to play I need the Spotify application and two options, "use the spotify" that opens the App Store and "Open the Spotify" that opens the music album, but at safari. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thank you

In this study, we investigate whether language and music share cognitive resources for structural processing. We report an experiment that used sung materials and manipulated linguistic complexity (subject-extracted relative clauses, object-extracted relative clauses) and musical complexity (in-key critical note, out-of-key critical note, auditory anomaly on the critical note involving a loudness increase). The auditory-anomaly manipulation was included in order to test whether the difference between in-key and out-of-key conditions might be due to any salient, unexpected acoustic event. The critical dependent measure involved comprehension accuracies to questions about the propositional content of the sentences asked at the end of each trial. The results revealed an interaction between linguistic and musical complexity such that the difference between the subject- and object-extracted relative clause conditions was larger in the out-of-key condition than in the in-key and auditory-anomaly conditions. These results provide evidence for an overlap in structural processing between language and music.

This research was supported in part by the Neurosciences Research Foundation as part of its program on music and the brain at The Neurosciences Institute, where A.P. is the Esther J. Burnham Senior Fellow.

Connecting through culture and our shared love of music, and presented with the generous atmosphere of the traditional Irish seisin, we are delighted to be supported by Creative Ireland, and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media's Local Live Performance Programming Scheme.

We'll be touring six locations in Kerry for the October Bank Holiday weekend thanks to the support of Creative Ireland and the Kerry Arts Office and working in partnership with our friends at Music Generation Kerry. All are welcome to join and dance with us at these county-wide outings of our Shared Music Sessions, which bring together Irish musicians with Ukrainian musicians and others from asylum seeker background. All events are free, and everyone is welcome.

It gives an error: OSError: opus: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have downloaded opuslib from Packages, and I have tried replacing opus in the load_opus() with opuslib, libopus, libopus.so.0, and none of them work. I have also tried putting ffmpeg there, which does not work either.

Is there any way to download opus, or maybe a workaround to this? 17dc91bb1f
