For this, the reform conditions stipulated Aadhar seeding of all ration cards, biometric authentication of beneficiaries, and automation of all Fair Price Shops (FPS) in the states. So far nine States have successfully completed reforms in PDS and implemented the One Nation One Ration System and permitted additional borrowing.

Initially, the government had set Monday, August 21, as the deadline for individuals to update their Know Your Customer (KYC) details linked to their ration cards. However, in response to the public's request for additional time and to address server-related issues, the government has decided to offer an extended timeline.
