When I initiated the first backup of the approximately 4000 photos on my phone, the app leapt into action and started backing up immediately. However, after about 500 photos it stopped and has since worked only sporadically.

Have you found a work around? This is the stupidest thing ever. I used to Mange files with my laptop on my my cloud drive and then Download them to my phone or tablet as needed. It was really simple now this my cloud drive is all but useless.

However, my Lightroom CC and Mobile have stopped syncing because I'm apparently out of cloud storage. Which in turn, hasn't synced my presets in LR to mobile. I searched various ways to unsync photos from the cloud without deleting them from Lightroom CC itself, and haven't found anything. I looked on the cloud itself, assets.adobe.com, and didn't see any files on there.

Are there not any options to stop syncing to the cloud? It seems a bit ridiculous to not have control over what is synced and what isn't. I should be able to control what gets synced to all devices and what photos I don't.

There are only two ways to unsync images without losing them. One is to use Lightroom Classic on your desktop. Let all the synced images download and unsync specific images or collections and they will get deleted from the cloud but not from Classic. Contrary to Lightroom CC, Classic can selectively sync. The other is to export your images from Lightroom CC to originals to your hard disk and then to delete them from Lightroom CC altogether.

This is still confusing. I am using LR CC subscription and use Lightroom classic on my desktop, and the lighroom mobile app on my phone. I had a ton of sync'd data from some previous installation, files taken from the desktop (maybe lightroomCC when it was called such). If I unsync files in the "all sync'd photos" folder in classic, they drop into "deleted" in the mobile app and warn me they'll be gone in 60 days. However it's my understanding that since they came from my physical drive, they should remain there as they've only been pulled from the sync collection. Sure they'll go off the phone, but the catalog/file copy should remain?

With a normal cloud once my photos from my phone are uploaded, i can delete the photos on my phone and they will stay saved in the cloud. BUT with my cloud home when i delete a photo from my phone it deletes from my cloud too-like a mirror. How do i fix this?! After I take a series of photos on my phone using its camera app, I switch over to the Google photos app, and inside that app I select one or more of the photos and create a shared album. That is not enough to sync to the cloud however. To force the phone to sync and upload all the files to cloud, you have to actually share it, or just click on the create link icon. In order for that to work, it forces the phone to have to upload all of the selected photos into Google photos. This works out just fine for me, because I usually want to get a share link to the items that I am taking a record of, anyway

In Google Photos app select Assistant and then you can choose (or view the current backup status/progress) to force backup photos. Be sure to set the different image maps to cloud: the folder will then contain a blue cloud icon with an arrow in it.

If you want the photos that are already in your cloud transferred to your phone, the open the cloud app on the phone, and sync - that should add the photos back to your phone. bB sure you are on wifi when you do this, 1600 photos is a lot of data!

The directions I gave above are for downloading from the cloud to your computer. I recommended doing 200 or so at a time - you CAN "select all" by checking the box beside the # of photos, and try downloading all 1600 at one time, but it may or may not work well.
