You can upload, view, and back up your photos from an SD card or USB device with Google Photos. If your photos are on an Android device, iPhone, or iPad, you can back up your photos to Google Photos directly from the device.

I have a Canon Powershot SD 790 IS. When I plug the camera in, nothing shows up in "Files" like I have read in other forums. I have turned the camera on and off while plugged in and have also tried turning it on before plugging it in, but nothing pops up.

How To Download Photos From Sd Card To Chromebook

I have just bought a CHROMEBOOK 13. I have a Nikon D5100 camera and I am trying to get the photo`s on to the chromebook ? The sb card from my camera is too big to go into the card port ....any suggestions?

Wondering if anyone has ever encountered this or has some good advice. I'd appreciate. Namely, while taking a photo of my chromebook screen, I noticed that the image was not static at all as it was when looking directly at the screen. Instead I saw a dizzying pattern of alternating dark-white stripes running in one direction. The pattern runs over the entire screen and it is changing its speed and the width of the stripes, at different times when I check it again, now out of curiosity. When I filmed this in "slow mode", the pattern started to move very fast and it showed clearly alternating black and white stripes. A very hypnotic view, I have to admit. Any advice, please share. Thank you

More of an addendum to my posting. Why do I see something else on my chromebook only when using a smartphone or iPad camera for photos / video ? Even the slow mode video behaves otherwise than it should, and it actually accelerates the pattern while also better defining the stripes. And why does the pattern change ? What puzzles me, is rather this dual mode, of seeing the plain screen with the naked eye, directly looking at the chromebook screen, and these moving vertical stripes when looking through a smartphone / iPad camera. Any optics issues involved, or polarization, or is it just a sofwtare glitch ? Did others ever observe this, too ? Thank you for any advice or related stories you may want to share.

What exactly do you see? Can you share a screen grab of Lightroom on your Chromebook? If the images uploaded correctly, you should see them. Tap on the icon in the upper left that looks like books on a shelf. From there you should see All Photos with a number below that shows how many photos are imported. Tap on that to see your photos.

I know this is 2 year old thread, but I still have this problem. When I choose the share icon (I'm running the Play Store application on my chromebook), I select Export, under more options, I can change the file name but I have no idea where the photo goes. It gives an example using the existing file name, but the file path makes no sense (/storage/emulated/0/Pictures/AdobeLightroom/filename.jpg). I can't seem to change the path. It seems that the only way I have to get the pictures off the Chromebook (besides opening Lightroom on my desktop) is to send the photo to Google Photos. Where is the Lightroom App sending my pictures????

The simplest method is to use a USB cable or SD card. Depending on the type of digital camera, you may be able to plug in the USB cable to an available port on your Chromebook and move the pictures over.

If using an SD card, remove it from your digital camera, and insert it into the SD card slot on your Chromebook. The process is the same as using a USB cable. However, not every Chromebook has an SD card slot.

Do you prefer to edit 360 photos and videos on your Android phone, but sometimes wish you had a larger screen, a readily accessible Micro SD slot, or maybe even a keyboard? Google has been adding Android app support to Chromebooks, enabling them to run Android apps, including apps for controlling 360 cameras, and for editing 360 photos and videos.

Here is a list of Chromebooks with Android app support. The two that I use are Samsung Chromebook 3 (Android support was added to mine only last night) and Samsung Chromebook Plus (which had Android support built-in from its release).

It seems that for controlling 360 cameras, some manufacturers envisioned that they would be controlled only by phone. On the other hand, it appears that most 360 photo and video editors for Android can be used with Chromebook.

I liked the Chromebook 3 so much that I got the Samsung Chromebook Plus. The Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro are Chromebooks that were specifically designed to have built-in Android app support. They also have touchscreens and a stylus, and can convert from a laptop to a tablet. Finally, they have higher-end hardware, including a larger, higher resolution screen, and more powerful processor.

Samsung Chromebook Plus vs. Chromebook 3: So far, I like the Chromebook Plus, because of its touchscreen, larger and brighter screen, and ability to convert to a tablet. I was surprised that the Chromebook Plus weighs slightly less than the Chromebook 3 (2.38 vs. 2.5 lbs) despite its larger screen and metal body (the Chromebook 3 has a plastic body).

If a memory card containing a large number of images is inserted, there may be a delay before the software starts and you may be unable to import or save images. Use a memory card reader to transfer pictures.

Make sure that the computer does not display a message stating that copying is in progress and that the indicator lamp is out before turning the camera off or disconnecting the USB cable (if the number of images copied is very large, the indicator lamp may remain lit after the message has cleared from the computer display). Failure to observe this precaution could result in loss of data or damage to the memory card.

If you are not eligible or do not meet the qualifications for this distribution, the Pratt still has you covered. Chromebooks may be borrowed from any location by customers 13 or older with a Pratt Library card.

Transferring photos from your Lumix camera to your laptop or computer really couldn't be easier. There are two main ways that you can do this from pretty much any Lumix camera model, from the cable provided with your camera kit, and using a direct link to the memory card in your camera. This will all depend on what sort of computer you are using to transfer the images.

Transferring via the USB cable provided in your kit will probably be the easiest choice for most. Almost all computers these days have USB ports, with exception to some of the more recent Apple Macbook Pro's, the reason for which most of us are still dumbfounded. First, you'll need to find where the connection port is on your camera.

This will generally be on the left hand side, beneath either a plastic cap or a rubber flap. Pull away or open up the cover and you'll probably discover a couple of different connectors. Simply plug into the appropriate one. You're camera should be turned OFF at this point.

You'll then need to plug the bigger end into the USB port on your computer.

Usually, these are found on the side of your laptop but now and again and on older computers you'll find them at the back or the back of your PC's tower unit. Once connected simply turn your Lumix camera on.

On the camera, the SD card is usually located to the opposite side that you found your USB connection. Uncover the plastic cap and push the top of the card down to release. The card should pop up so you can grab it easily.

If this doesn't happen, then your memory card will appear as a drive, just as above. Go to your desktop folder and look down the left hand side for any new drives added near your C and Hard Drives. Double click, select DCIM again, and you're away. Then it's simply the same process as above!

If you don't have an SD card port on your laptop or you've lost your sync cable from the camera, you can simply buy an external memory card reader. These are pretty inexpensive, are powered by your USB and contain all the different ports you need to read memory cards from SD to Compact Flash and even Micro SD in some cases. Have a look at your nearest electrical goods store or online and grab yourself a bargain.

For those of you about to weed through all the comments below, I'd recommend saving yourself some time by getting a micro SD card reader. I tried everything below to no avail - but simply removing the card from the camera and using a usb card reader works fine. It's as if the PC recognizes the camera as a usb storage drive, but for whatever reason does not recognize the memory card IN the camera as the actual drive. There are no drivers, defective manufacturer cables, special cables, etc.

Yeah i tried connecting with a USB micro cable and it didn't pick it up (Windows 10), then found the micro USB that was supplied with the camera and it works fine. Don't know what the difference is but there obviously is one (the majority of my cables are cheap chinese knock-offs!) 152ee80cbc
