If you experience a Stop error on a blue screen when you run the offline scan, restart your device and try running a Microsoft Defender Offline scan again. If the blue-screen error happens again, contact Microsoft Support.

Norton 360 Deluxe. My device (laptop) is NOT being recognised or showing as active. Also, the download app is saying it's not a microsoft app, and it wont allow me to download it. The rest of my account shows up as active. Thank you for any help or advice.

Hello Eileen. It sounds like your Windows account is restricting apps to the Microsoft store. Please check the following setting as shown in the below article. Make sure you reboot the laptop to make the changes across your Windows account and recheck.

My Teams on my laptop kept telling me I was "offline" even though I was connected with a strong signal to my wi-fi, I could browse the web with no issues, connected to VPN and (through VPN), I was RDP'd into servers for work.

Hi everybody,

My windows started to act weird recently. Seemed like problems with explorer : Elements of menu taskbar were disappearing, folder's elements were disappearing, sound would stop working on occasions etc.

So I run the offline defender scan overnight on my lenovo y700 laptop. ..

Unfortunately my laptop died. When I plug in the charger, the light of power control on the laptop wont go on, but when i plug in an external drive to the USB, it will have the light on.

Do you know what might have happened to my laptop? Did any of it happen to other users?

please help, thanks!

PS sorry for bad label on the post, but the forum didnt let me post my own

I have tried using the Salesforce Offline Edition as a way of accessing and adjusting the data offline. But after doing plenty of research and testing I concluded that the benefits are heavily outnumbered by disbenefits. To even use the SalesForce Offline Edition effectively I need to be using windows 7 operating system and an outdated version of Internet Explorer.

You could cast phone on laptop but I guess you wanted "desktop-like" capabilities? I am sure there are plenty of reasons for offline mode application but there is no standard, easy way of doing that today - unfortunately. The difficult way if you ask will be to build a custom application and sync that with SFDC.

There is an idea sticking around about enabling offline mode for quite some time - =08730000000Z9BwAAK. I am not sure whether it will go anywhere soon in the always-connected world that we live in.

I got a new printer less than a month ago, it's a HP ENVY Photo 7155. I have set up HP Instant Ink and done everything I needed to do. I have the HP Smart app on both my phone and my laptop. My printer says that it is connected online (solid blue wifi light is on, printer itself has a connection) and my phone from HP Smart says that my printer is online (says Online and Ready to print, shows me my ink levels and everything, I can print from my phone as last resort but I would rather not have this as I bought the printer to print from my laptop) but when I go on my laptop it can never seem to find my printer. On the few occasions it does find my printer it says that it's offline. When I go on my HP Smart app on my laptop it says that I am connected to my printer but that it is offline. When I go on my Instant Ink account on the HP website, it says that my printer is online and ready for use. I am at my wits end and I have important papers that I need to print as I bought this printer for school because I am a college student. Please help me. I just need my printer to print wireless from my laptop (because as my understanding goes the Instant Ink doesn't count if it is through Wifi Direct or is connected to my laptop through USB).

Also sometimes my laptop gives me 2 options of printers that are mine (both say offline anyways but one says the normal printer name and one has "PCL-3" added at the end. I never know what to pick) Thank you in advance. Any help would be appreciated.

I have desktop PC (Windows 10) with a large hard drive and all my files on it including my entire music collection. I also have a nice small laptop (Windows 10) for taking to meetings which has a significantly smaller hard drive. I use Dropbox plus to sync my work files between the two units but have recently started moving my music onto dropbox so that I can listen to it whilst away from home. However, given the smaller hard drive on the laptop I don't want dropbox to download the music to the laptop as I need the space for my work files. How do I tell Dropbox not to download these music files to my laptop but let me access them when I am online and leave the music files available offline on my PC?

I can see that I can remove them from the sync for the laptop through the settings/preferences icon on the taskbar icon but this means they would have to accessed through the website amking them difficult. The advertising implies that they can be synced but not downloaded.

If you'd like to enable offline access with Duo MFA you can do that now in the "Offline Access Settings" section of the Duo application page, or return to the Admin Panel later to configure offline access after first verifying logon success with two-factor authentication.

When users check this box and complete Duo authentication, they aren't prompted for Duo secondary authentication when they unlock the workstation after that initial authentication until the configured trusted session time expires. If the user changes networks, authenticates with offline access while the workstation is disconnected, logs out of Windows, reboots the workstation, or clicks the "Cancel" button during workstation unlock, Duo for Windows Logon invalidates the current trusted session and the next Windows logon or unlock attempt will require Duo authentication again.

If you chose to enable offline access on your application, then enrolled users who bypass 2FA due to the effective Authentication Policy would still be prompted to complete offline enrollment. To avoid confusion, we recommend leaving offline access off until you require users to complete Duo 2FA while online.

Check the Only allow offline login from users in certain groups to specify a group or groups of Duo users permitted to use offline access. Users who are not members of the groups you select here won't be able to enroll in offline access or login in with MFA when the Windows system is unable to contact Duo, and instead are subject to your fail mode configuration (let in without MFA if you enabled fail open, or prevented from logging in if you disabled fail open).

After you configure this option, when a user logs into a Windows system while it's online and can reach Duo and it has been greater than 24-30 hours since the last online authentication, Duo for Windows Logon will update the offline policies for all users on the system, including deprovisioning them for offline access if they are no longer members of the offline groups selected for offline login in the Duo Admin Panel.

Users may activate offline access using either the Duo Mobile application for iOS or Android, or a U2F security key. Both offline authentication methods are allowed unless you uncheck one in the Offline authentication methods setting. You may not uncheck both options.

No information about logins using offline access is reported in Duo Admin Panel authentication reports while the Windows system is offline. At the next online authentication, login events that occurred while the system was offline are sent to Duo's service. These events show up in the Authentication Log with other user access results, and show the offline authentication method used.

By default, five (5) users may enroll in offline access. To increase or reduce the number of users that may activate offline access on a given Windows client, use the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) with administrator privileges to create or update the following registry value:

To force offline reactivation for a previously activated user on a given Windows system, use the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) with administrator privileges to delete the entire registry key that includes the username from HKLM\SOFTWARE\Duo Security\DuoCredProv\Offline.

You may have Windows systems where no users should log in using offline access, regardless of the application setting in the Duo Admin Panel. To prevent offline authentication for any user on a given Windows client, use the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) with administrator privileges to create or update the following registry value:

I don't understand why I cannot access any notes offline on my laptop! I never sign out of my Evernote on my laptop and I really don't have a large database of information so it's not a syncing issue. But regardless, if my laptop doesn't connect to wifi for whatever reason, I should still be able to access Evernote and my notes. When I launch Evernote, it just loads and nothing. This experiential use after the new overhaul/redesign is terrible and has completely disregarded desktop/laptop users. Please fix this ASAP!!

The text and feature is tricking users. There is not a full sync of notes on Windows platform. Just installed on my new laptop and preparing for a trip, and testing that i have all offline. Only title, no body. On mobile there is an option to specify what is available offline and it should download. Even there is downloading since hours. 006ab0faaa
